Dax Diameter Posted June 17, 2023 Author Posted June 17, 2023 Okay, so some Aussie queens on Facebook have (cough) started a change.org petition to pressurize Australian TV into purchasing syndication rights from the BBC for Dannii’s gay dating show: https://www.change.org/p/i-kissed-a-boy-tv-show-australia Wow! Dax Diameter Posted June 23, 2023 Author Posted June 23, 2023 (edited) A rare occasion when a pop girl gets a decent length extended remix in 2023. The remix package for Dannii’s “We Could Be The One” was released today and the main mix the “Trouser Enthusiasts Remix” (augmented for club play), clocks in at just under NINE minutes and packs a real punch that elevates the track to new heights above and beyond the original edit (which was designed for radio play): “We Could Be The One (Trouser Enthusiasts Remix)”: On Spotify (including the Dub Mix): Edited June 23, 2023 by Dax Diameter Quote
Dax Diameter Posted June 24, 2023 Author Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) Kylie And The 12” Single: Spoiler I’m sure some of you will know this already, however for those who might not.. When Kylie first came out (and for years after), it was part of her brand and an essential bookmark of each and every one of her single releases (even the ballads) to check out her latest 12” mix. These were not necessarily club reworks/ remixes, the 12” Mix preceded those (which were a later evolutionary development of the format). Where in contrast, a ‘Radio Edit’ was formulated to be around the 3 mins & 30 secs, not only for commercial radio play, but also for the purpose of promotional television performances (heavily segmented between commercial breaks) and also music videos.. The 12” was a non-remixed ultra extended version of the Radio Edit, designed for people to go on an aural journey with and lose their shit to on the nightclub dance-floor. The surface of all vinyl albums with the exception of very limited edition 10” collector edition vinyl E.P’s (past, present and future), measure 12” across and play at a speed of 33 rpm (rotations per minute). The difference between a vinyl album and a 12” vinyl single was/ is - that in contrast a 12” (single), traditionally plays at 45 rpm and traditionally included an ultra extended mix that lasted anywhere from 6 minutes (to in some cases 12 minutes) in duration. The whole concept was born out of the disco era (not the Kylie album), the music era/ genre. Although Gloria Gaynor never was the one true Queen of Disco (that was and will forever remain to be Donna Summer, check the chart statistics) - Gloria was one of the first ever artists to have a 12” extended mix that was designed with the express intention (and within context of that particular time period), to make people lose their shit on weekend dance-floors everywhere! In the 12 years that followed, the 12” (extended) song format remained much unchanged, aside from technological advances in sound production and the partial transfer of the extended song format to the early digital age in the form of the CD Single. It was upon this very foundation that Kylie’s music career was born and subsequently stepped onto: Some of Kylie’s Best Full Length 12” Vocal Dance Mixes (Non-Chronological): WARNING: Some of these full vocal mixes sound laughably 😂 dated. Also, if you have only ever been exposed to abridged song lengths on TikTok, these may sound plain weird to your ears: Spoiler ”Hand On Your Heart (Great Aorta Mix)”: ”What Do I Have To Do? (Pump & Polly A.K.A the Pumpin’ Mix)”: “Better The Devil You Know (The Mad March Hare Mix)”: “Made In Heaven (Made In England Mix)”: “Put Your Hands Up (Pete Hammond Mix)”: “What Kind Of Fool? (No Tech No Logical Mix)”: “I Should Be So Lucky (Bicentennial Mix)”: “Wouldn’t Change A Thing (Your Thang Mix)” “The Loco-Motion (Chugga Motion Mix)”, Original Full Length 12” Australian Version: “The Loco-Motion (The Kohaku Mix)”, The World Outside Australia, 12” Re-Recording/ Re-Version: Edited June 24, 2023 by Dax Diameter Quote

Dax Diameter Posted July 19, 2023 Author Posted July 19, 2023 (edited) So, Uncle Pete is on the promo trail for his musical.. .. and Kylie (who now owns her PWL material) is happy to promote it.. knowing the resurgence of interest in that era’s streams. .. I blame the success of “Mama Mia - The Musical”. Book your tickets now (or not) I guess 🤷🏼♀️ Edited July 19, 2023 by Dax Diameter Quote

But just judging by the visuals, I can tell this musical is going to be dreadful 1 Quote
