I do expect Kylie to have a direction/ flavour and that is lacking. However if I take Kylie out of the equation, the breakdown section feels stronger to me. As a former avid clubber (and now an occasional one) I do love vocal house. Whilst house does make sense for an artist with a primarily gay demographic, I do expect Kylie’s team to be more nuanced than her audience and give something with personality and a signature mood (which unexpectedly feels absent) beyond a base compulsion to dance.
