Main Pop Girl
Have you guys been keeping up with the drama around Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn? A few weeks ago, Disney fired him from directing the third film in the series after some controversial joking tweets he made years ago were brought back up into the conversation by alt-right publication Breitbart. Now, the entire lead cast of the film has defended him on Twitter and asked for him to be reinstated as director. In my opinion, he should have never been fired in the first place. The culture of bandwagon hating someone for comments or actions from years ago is ridiculous imo, and if we fired everyone who ever made one inappropriate joke in their life I think the entire population would be out of a job. I hope the cast stays firm on their decision and he gets rehired so that a message can be sent to other networks that forgiveness can be earned. But what do you guys think? Let me know below! SkullPop
TBH to me these are bad jokes to be caught with! Although, I have no doubt in my bones that most celebrities have made jokes that could get them cancelled! If they do fire him it's probably cause he works for Disney in the end & they don't wanna harm their "golden" reputation. Although, not sure if this is true but I did her crazy shit. Supposedly, one of his old friends got arrested for distributing child pornography & it was said that he had copies of such films for enjoyment. In that case, if it's real he should've been arrested a long time ago. But, I'm not sure if it is so let him stay!

Whoknowsmehere
My niece was molested by a disgusting punk a few years ago. I will not go into details. (Thankfully he is in prison now). And Thank God she is doing well. She has a very supportive family. So IMHO, I am glad Disney did what they did, and fired his ASS. (Whether that lasts or not, we will see). Last I read, they are still refusing to rehire him. And I am saying that as someone who absolutley love both Guardians of the Galaxy movies. I do not care if these jokes were made last week, last year or ten years ago. If they were only jokes that is? Or was it a way for him to make light of what was actually happening? Who knows? There has been rampant rumors for years, if not decades of what goes on in Hollywood concerning The Topic of Pedophilia. (Please watch the movie "An Open Secret"). You can find it on You-tube, or other video sharing sites. I do not care if it was an "Alt-Right" website or a "Left Wing" website that brought this to light. I say thank you to who ever it was. Any ramifications that come from his disgusting actions. Jokes or not? IMHO, He brought this upon on himself. So, I say to Mr. James Gunn.....Good Riddance, Good By. And if you never work in Hollyweird again.............SO BE IT. You sir, will get no sympathy from me.

I definitely agree that things possibly would have gone differently if this had been a Warner Bros or Paramount film rather than a Disney one. Is the friend you're referring to Bryan Singer by any chance? He's the director of a bunch of X-Men films but he's been confirmed by a bunch of people to not just joke about pedophilia but to engage in it as well... 1 hour ago, Whoknowsmehere said: My niece was molested by a disgusting punk a few years ago. I understand your viewpoint, but aren't you the one who was talking a few days ago about how you purposefully trigger SJW's at work? How would you feel if ten years from now when you're CEO at your business, the same people who went to HR about you came out again and you were fired from your job over something you did years ago? To me, it's ridiculous to hold people's past actions to the standards of the present. I know for a fact that I made jokes about black people, women and maybe even child sex abuse back in school ten years ago, but times were different back then and jokes like that were pretty accepted, at least where I was. That said, I wouldn't make those jokes in the political climate we have now and I don't think it would be fair for people to dredge up those comments and judge me for what was said back then. What do I know though?

What do I know though? I am sorry my friend, but me triggering a couple of insecure SJW's is not even in the same ballpark as what this deuche bag did. I don't care what the norm was back then. At one time it was the norm to Lynch people for the color of their skin. It was the norm to tie stones to people's feet and throw them in the lake for being suspected af being a witch. If they came back up, they were not guilty. It was the norm at one time to own people, and in some Countries it is still ok. Sorry my friend. No matter when it happened, it was wrong. I stand by my original comments. I have never made a joke about child abuse. It was never the norm where I grew up. He deserved what he got. I would never judge someone for owning a slave back in the 1800s, refuse to read their book or hate them as a person, because that's what was normal back then. Hell, if I refused to enjoy the works of anyone who ever hated gay people then I wouldn't be able to consume any media from before 1995. Similiarly, distasteful jokes were the norm back in my school and I don't think it would be fair to judge me for partaking in them given that's the culture I grew up around. Either way, I'm glad you've lived your entire life on the moral highground and have never made a distasteful joke in your entire life.
MissDarla
If he just made those jokes then I would understand firing him, but they are several years old. Sjws want people to change but still want them punished the rest of their lives when they do.
