Heartbreak Anthem Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Following the highly-acclaimed Spirit, Echo was Leona Lewis' second studio album. It saw her working with many "name" producers, such as: Max Martin, Harvey Mason Jnr, John Shanks & Ryan Tedder, among others, however, Syco⏤much like with the release of Spirit⏤mishandled the fuck out of this era. "Happy" was the album's lead single and while praised by critics, I felt like it provided a false start to the era, and isn't a single-worthy release. I would have kicked-off the era with its second single, "I Got You" and went from there. Praised as the next Mariah Carey, Céline Dion & Whitney Houston, I do believe Lewis was always set up to fail by Syco and her management, and it's unfortunate because of her powerful gift. Track listing Happy I Got You Love Letter Can't Breathe You Don't Care Outta My Head Brave My Hands Alive Don't Let Me Down Fly Here Now Broken Naked Singles I Got You Can't Breathe Outta My Head Don't Let Me Down Broken 4 Quote

I Walk The Line @Ice Princedid a very similar tracklist that share the same placements as Empty Gold and Is There Somewhere share. Hurricane is such a great song and deserves to be on the front of the album but I couldn't place it anywhere between drive and roman holiday since those songs are made for each other. I put it after Ghost as thats the track run on Room 93 and works pretty well! even if it interferes with the cohesion from Ghost to Colors. But anyway omitting Control is blasphemous smh Quote

I always thought Naked, Can't Breathe or My Hands would have been better singles than I Got You. And I'd probably lowkey swap Love Letter with Let It Rain or Lost Then Found (not to mention scrapped songs like Scene of the Crime or Save Myself that could've made the album). Quote

Yeah, imo Empty Gold and Is There Somewhere really deserved a spot in the album oh for sure. especially is there somewhere, like i was so shook it wasn't on the album when i was navigating her discog. i mean she did a japanese bonus track tho but its not the same, it fits so well with coming down in it's lyrical content. i truly love badlands but cohesion is the one thing it lacks (mainly on the deluxe in some places, the standard was alright in terms of track run but having Ghost as a closer is just a huge no for me). i think if we had the tracklist like mine or smth it would have been more cohesive imo, espically since it's a concept album. 1 Quote
Crystal <3 Posted November 17 Posted November 17 CANDYLAND by Brooke Candy (2024) Tracklist Spoiler 1. Das Still Me 2. Flip Phone 3. Crisis (feat. lozeak) 4. Next Bitch 5. Crucify My Love 6. Wreck Me 7. ATM 8. Juicy Fruit 9. Safe Word 10. Fish 11. Expertise (feat. Namasedna & Cecile Believe) 12. Respectfully 13. Dirty Money (feat. DETO BLACK) 14. Go Go Go 15. Block 16. Angel Tattoo 17. Dirty Little Freak 18. Spiral Once again, most of my tracklist is based of @Ice Prince's re-arrange (and retitlement) of the album. CANDYLAND took time to grow on me but as a overall project its a mess. Not including flip phone is honestly a crime. Gag has great production but terrible lyricism. Hysteria is cute, I like blackout but i didnt feel like it fitted with the album. I might condense this but 18 songs have built up 40+ minutes which to me is an average album length, some of these songs are too short. BABYNYMPH killed the dirty money production but also has this issue with her own music being too short but ANYWAY. I need expertise in HQ also, love namasenda and cecile, idk why she brooke removed this bop from spiral. this era has been musically messy. 1 Quote

Flip Phone is the best song she's released since the RCA days so idk how in hell did she decide to skip it from either of her new albums. i'm honestly not too fond of several of her recent songs but some I do enjoy, but i fear this will be it for her pop music. she seems so over it atp and i bet she can't wait to move on from this sound - that's probably why these eras have been a mess. shame, cause Flip Phone, Crisis, Wreck Me, Safe Word or Dirty Little Freak are some serious bops and definitely deserved more. 1 Quote

Ice Prince Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Florrie - Give Me Your Love (2010) Instead of the Introduction EP released in 2010 as Florrie's debut extended play, she instead went for a full studio effort including the other tracks she released earlier that year. It is also retitled Give Me Your Love as for its title track being a fan-favourite. The era begins with "Call 911" and continues with other tracks like "Fascinate Me", "Come Back to Mine" and "Panic Attack" as promotional singles throughout the year. Ultimately, "Fascinate Me", "Give Me Your Love" and the first Fred Falke mix of "Panic Attack" are subsequently released as official singles to follow up the commercial success of "Call 911". Singles from Give Me Your Love: "Call 911" (12 July 2010) "Fascinate Me" (3 September 2010) "Give Me Your Love" (28 October 2010) "Panic Attack" (8 November 2010) Track listing: Call of the Wild Give Me Your Love Fascinate Me Fred Falke version Call 911 Radio mix You Wanna Start Something Summer Nights Panic Attack Fred Falk mix 2 Come Back to Mine Jaxon remix edit Left Too Late Call 911 Florrie remix; Exclusive Florrie website bonus track 2 Quote
Ice Prince Posted November 26 Posted November 26 (edited) Meghan Trainor - Timeless (2024) First of all, the singles chosen for the era were very odd choices to be honest. Been Like This is one of the worst songs in the record, and how it came to be the lead single is beyond me when there's literally like 4 other options sitting there. In my opinion these should've been the singles: "Love on Hold" (feat. T-Pain) "To the Moon" "Criminals" "Sleepin' on Me" "Bite Me" Also, as usual with Meghan Trainor's albums, there's a very solid 12-track album hiding in the overfluffed randomly-ordered playlist record that was released, so here's a proposal on how it should've been as to make it concise, cohesive, nice-flowing and remarkable. Sadly, it's too short (a whooping 12 songs, 34 minutes???) but it makes for a nice listen. To the Moon Sleepin' on Me Whoops Hate It Here Bite Me Criminals Love on Hold (feat. T-Pain) I Don't Do Maybe Forget How to Love Crowded Room I Get It Timeless Edited November 26 by Ice Prince 1 1 Quote

Crystal <3 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 7 by Nelly Furtardo (2024) Tracklist Spoiler 1. Showstopper 2. Corazón (feat. Bomba Estéro) 3. Love Bites (feat. Tove Lo & SG Lewis) 4. Honesty 5. Ready For Myself 6. Take Me Down 7. Fantasy 8. Better For Worse (feat. Gray Hawken) 9. Floodgate 10. Save Your Breath (feat. Williane 108, Charmie, Taborah Johnson & Tynomi Banks) 11. Crown (feat. Blxckie) 12. All Comes Back (feat. Charlotte Day Wilson) 13. Better Than Ever 14. Memories Of Dena First time listening to a Nelly album. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but it's a bit of a mess despite my appreciation for the diversity. I tried to put most of the dance songs at the front and have them transition into the second half as a more personal side. Is it better than the tracklist she went with? Maybe not so much. Might switch a few songs but other than that I may get into her other records. Lack of cohesion in a comeback album from a 2000s pop icon continues the legacy of alot 2000s albums having that same fault in a way. My faves are: Love Bites, Honesty, Take Me Down, Fantasy, Corazon 2 Quote
Crystal <3 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Nine by Samantha Jade (2015) Tracklist Spoiler 1. Always 2. Naked 3. Wait For It 4. What You Want 5. Only Just Begun 6. Sweet Talk 7. Shake That (feat. Pitbull) 8. Armour 9. Show Me Love 10. Let The Good Times Roll 11. Castle 12. Born to be Alive 13. Nine I listened to this album last week, it's pretty good! not the most amazing pop record ever as it does follow the expectancy of quality from the music of it's time, basically predictable but it doesn't make the music bad. Idk why she put Armour as a B Side and Sweet Talk casted of the final tracklist, both songs are amazing! I feel like alot of people here would dig her music too 1 Quote
