Katy Perry Signs on as 'American Idol' Judge

Purposeful pop artist Katy Perry has signed up to be a judge on the returning American Idol, reports Billboard.

The news basically leaked over the weekend, and was sort of confirmed by Perry herself on the Ellen show, but has now been officially announced by ABC at some sort of presentation thing AND Katy herself.

It should also help Perry shift some copies of her forthcoming ‘Witness’ album so it really is win-win here you guys.

This is a mess...  What she needs to be doing right now is rehabbing her public image and putting out some good pop tunes, not signing on to helm a ship that already sunk years ago.  This is gonna be so bad you guys!

Seriously, this is the weirdest thing ever. No one cared about it on the last seasons, why would people care about it now?

It's being brought back because Fremantle Media wants the Idol brand to continue. Fox ended the show and spent millions to make sure everyone knew it was ending, but Fremantle had a different idea so they shopped the brand around to other networks. Fox is apparently very angry about it!

So maybe she will follow Demi's footsteps now and kill her dog for sells. After Floyd was killed by coyotes, Demi realized it would be cool if her pet died too, so she killed her dog just to be in the same situation as Miley and mourn the loss of her pet.

Right?!  This show was flopping majorly for the last few years of it's life and the only person keeping it alive was J. Lo, so without her it's just gonna completely bomb...
