I think it helps that 'The Cure' was a surprise release, whereas with 'PI' we had a good month or two of teasing beforehand to hype it up in our heads which left some people disappointed.

I like Perfect Illusion better but I think The Cure is more of a comeback single. It's much poppier and I think it sounds more like a Lady Gaga song than Perfect Illusion did.

I'm still annoyed she didn't use that title more to her advantage... Why not release some badly produced demo of the song and then be like, "Wait, it was a perfect illusion!" and slay everyone with the final!
