The better SLAY does the sooner the album so we really gotta support her

All of us aren't enough to make her put out the album. She needs to decide, and she needs to stop teasing. She's pushing away the small fanbase she has, evident by the entirety of the thread.

I’m ready for the final versions to leak so I can burn a CD and close the door on this god forsaken chapter. Cut, print, moving on. Let’s not delude ourselves into thinking Bonnie will ever release this material. The definition of insanity, etc etc…

This is basically how I'm feeling. A small part of me still believes that Bonnie is gonna release... something by the end of summer, but the more rational part of me realizes that she's closed the door on this chapter of her life, and I should too. I'll always feel sad whenever I think about the massive amount of potential Bonnie had to be a gay cult pop icon, but at least I can die happy now that all of the unreleased whiteboard tracks have leaked.

On a more positive note, I want to give a massive THANK YOU to whoever leaked Electric. That song is a whole ass bop!

The thing is she doesn’t want or won’t be happy with a cult following. She wants what Katy has BUT she can’t get that without *let’s all say it together audience!* RELEASING MUSIC! How does she expect an ep from years ago to magically do numbers on charts. Or the singles? That’s really not possible? Especially when there’s not backing from her end either.

This honestly... and she's pushing away the cult following she has. Everybody is basically ready to move on once the finals of these songs leak. People have already made their own CDs.

If she's actually lurking on this forum, she should know she needs to *STOP* taking her fans for granted she has. I became a fan this year based on leaks alone and got into her released stuff later on. (Very hard since she has almost none.) I have avoided a large majority of what she's said she's, "putting out," to not spoil the experience and out of respect for her. Now, she's teasing everybody AGAIN.  Nobody would have a logical reason to stick around, but people STILL have. She's got one dedicated following, one she dupes out of scraps, time and TIME again. To everybody who's been around since 2013, I am genuinely sorry.

Imo she means well and in her mind all those songs she knows we want and love she will put out WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT. And that's what's holding her back because she's so particular about all the things that have to fall in place for the ideal release climate, instead of just saying fuck it and making peace with the fact she could face a commercial failure even with kickass material.

I agree about her attitude/approach alienating the already (very strong/devoted but) small fan base she has. Instead of caving in and sparing all of our time by delivering the music, she's made us wait over a decade and the chances of her being successful are getting slimmer and slimmer every year. A pop star in her late 30s/early 40s CAN still be successful and receive acclaim... Janet Jackson, Britney, Madonna, JLo are all a living proof it's totally doable; the difference is they have years worth of music and a legacy. Sure, Bonnie has that too, but it's all songs that have leaked and the public has zero clue about that.

Just think about how iconic SLAY could've been back in 2014 when the 1999 line wasn't overused to death and slay wasn't household slang. Bonnie was the first pop girl to tailor a whole A-grade bop around the word! Even if we do get the song now, she's already missed that golden window of opportunity for it to be truly special.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason she's dragging this out so much. In my mind, she's very much aware of exactly what we want. She didn't make a VHS tape for Thorns for the 'Bonnie McKee Vault' because she knows it's her least popular release (although it has a special place in our heart for that reason), also noticed how we only got videos of her dancing to American Girl, SLAY, and Hot City at the listening party?? She must've played more songs like Forever 21 (which hadn't leaked yet at the time the videos taken at her party started surfacing) or the final version of Electric Heaven. So she knew exactly what songs had leaked and which we hadn't heard yet and made sure she wouldn't spoil the unleaked ones.

The most annoying thing about her entire act is the lack of honesty, transparency, and communication tho. If she kept things real and said "there's been some setbacks and so the single isn't coming until early September" I'd have so much more respect for her than when she keeps leading us on and keeps giving us false hope.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Ok, and this is a bit random, and I might've brought it up few pages back but anyone else realized Bonnie's songwriting M.O. sorta is to take a hit song during whatever time period she's working on music in and then rewrite it to create a new song? I'm sure this is extremely common, but it's funny how so many of the 2013-2014 Epic tracks resemble other songs that received heavy rotation some years prior. To give a few examples (some of them might be reaching while others are a perfect match):

1. S.L.A.Y. --> Perfect Day (Hoku); SLAY's tempo is just a tiny bit slower

2. American Girl --> Teenage Dream (Katy Perry); this one's obvious, there's also Good Time (CRJ feat. Owl City) which curiously enough came out a year before AG did

3. Hot City --> Can't Get Over (September); Hot City just lacks the epic key change during the last chorus which I'd live for!

4. Forever 21 --> Break Your Heart (Taio Cruz); again, Bonnie's just slowed things down but the instrumental is so similar, then I hear some similarity between All That She Wants by Ace of Base and the F21 verses

5. I Wanna Fucking Call You --> Breathless (The Corrs)

From the leaks:

Femme Fatale --> very much gives Turn Me On (Nicki Minaj feat. David Guetta) and Only Girl (Rihanna)

Guilty Pleasure --> Sexy Bitch (Akon feat. David Guetta) + Selfish (Britney Spears)

Hello dear

Can you please update your list of bonnie leak/unleaked.

In case you already did it, can you post it under this message and thank you 😊

Yes! I'm on it. Don't worry. Lots of new stuff to add.

Remember when she said she decided to go independent because she was “sick of waiting” and wanted to “release music more frequently” and “connect with the fans”? :cackle:

The irony. If she had stayed with Epic we probably would have gotten an album (or at least an EP) back in 2014. It may not have looked exactly the way she wanted it to, but I think Bonnie’s perfectionism is what continues to hold her back. As others have said above, the longer she waits, the less likely it is that anything will happen with these songs.

I really wish she would just say “fuck it” and start putting them out. Release one single on streaming every month, I’m sure she could secure some playlisting spots (IIRC Spotify added “Thorns” to New Music Friday back in the day) and build up some hype before an album release.

Slinging merch for your bf’s tour ain’t it, Bon.

Anyway, as y’all said, she has until Aug 31st to release SOMETHING before this Bon Bon bounces up outta here! :hottie:
