At this point I'd love Bonnie to release some scrapped pitched songs a la Sia's This Is Acting (2016).

Imagine her releasing Femme Fatale, DNA, Dance or Die etc. now that we know they were left unreleased but have a lot of potential :yeah:

Girrrlll you need to stop exercising so much telepathy and hacking into my mind because that's EXACTLY what I was thinking. Sadly, I think our sis Sia might have a better deal which allows her to claim onwnership over the songs she wrote in case a bigger artist rejected them unlike Bonnie who churns out all these bops but then has to let them go even if nobody ended up using them.

She hates us :cackle:

EDIT: Love the fact she's calling PHF a fan forum :yeah: Come thru PHF, the biggest Bonnie McKee fan forum

So she’s aware that people are online trading and selling her songs, wouldn’t that make her wanna push her to release the music, or the album faster? I’m sure she has the publishing rights to all of the epic songs by now!

she knows

She's been saying the same thing since the infamous 2016 mass leak yet she's only officially released 3-4 new songs since then :awkwardney: Those songs have been sitting on her hard drive for like a decade now :yeah:

What's more, WE KNOW she was able to negotiate with Epic upon leaving the label and walk away with full ownership of the masters to all the Epic songs. So baby girl has been sitting on Forever 21 and the rest of the album for over EIGHT years now and there's never been a right time or opportunity to put them out? I do not understand this woman.

Haha I just choose to believe she's a master troll at this point. Remember this Idolator article?

Quote

“I’m Indie by choice because I knew if I signed with another label right away, it would be another year before I could put anything out,” Bonnie told Idolator in July, 2015. “With all the legality and all the red tape and all the opinions. I just had stuff I wanted to put out right now.”

How much stuff has she put out since 2015? Excluding the four songs on the Bombastic EP, she released 6 promo singles over the course of  S E V E N  years. THAT'S TRAGIC.

Bonnie, love, you could've signed with a major label back then (and you might've actually had an album out). You worried about it being another year before you could release something and now it's been 3 years since you dropped a song.

It’s really hard to feel bad for her. I’m sorry, but she’s been teasing new music since 2016. These songs have been sitting on her hard drive for nearly a decade. She has no one else to blame but herself.

Same. It's also extremely frustrating because she keeps using leaks as an excuse for not releasing music, but girl, the reason why people leak those songs in the first place is cuz there was no way we were ever gonna hear them. We can't wait 20 more years for you to decide now is the right time to drop an album that would be 30 years in the making by then,

I don't see why it's "hard to feel bad" for her. She's an independent artist and she likes to put things out on her own terms. I get that we've been waiting for official releases and new stuff from Bonnie but at the end of the day, she doesn't owe us anything - fan or not.

I think she's taking her time building a new following via TikTok and the return to favor of bubblegum/dance/80s pop probably means she'll feel more at home releasing new/old music. She made it pretty clear that she was going to hold onto any of the Epic stuff until current trends were more suitable.

She also stated that it didn't feel right putting out new music during the pandemic. In addition, she seemed pretty focused on honing her acting skills and promoting her short film, which by all accounts, has performed pretty well for her as a first time director.

I'm happy to wait however long she wants to take to put this out in an official capacity because I know it'll be done to her liking when it is. I'll buy any physical format she releases in and stream elsewhere.

Like she's been doing with her songwriting credits on TikTok, I think it would be wise to release a YT doc or podcast detailing her years in the pop music machine - Breaking Bonnie 2.0 (the title even has a double meaning this many years later). She should talk all about the creation of the Epic album, how it broke down, how it made her feel, and why she ended up independent.

She can talk about how artists make it nowadays and why she's choosing to release reworked versions of her old music. I think there's an appetite for the type of insight she can provide, both for BonBons and pop music fans in general. She's seen the highs and lows of an industry that, ultimately, very few get to see, so I'd love to hear her tell all while showing everyone how it's done.
