It's like an interlude at this point. I'm still excited about this album. Even if I know it's at least half a year away. Please give us the title of a couple more confirmed songs girl Honestly it feels like an opener track to me which then goes to slay and hot city being in the middle of the album or smth or maybe thats just my vision 3 Quote
Kesha Slays Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 (edited) Idk whether to be excited or concerned regarding the next potential single that's released. I mean, I don't think I can handle another short, I can't even call DGMGF a song, it's not a song, it's so short, it's basically a jingle, you know for like tv commercials or maybe even an opening theme. She did so good with Slay and Hot City. I love Bonnie just as much as anyone here, but after this fiasco, I'm sure we all have our doubts. I think what Bonnie did with releasing DGMGF was cute and maybe she did it as an ode to her fans or something, but professionally speaking, it wasn't very wise. Kinda feels like a slap to the face. Plus with the constant nagging about pre-saving (which I do totally understand, I just think she overdid it with the nagging) all for a one minute and twenty-one seconds (I refuse to call it a song) jingle, was irritating to say the least. I swear her reels about pre-saving popped up for me on like 5 different occasions. See, with Slay and Hot City, I could totally respect Bonnie wanting us to pre-save. They were actual songs. Makes sense. All I'm saying is don't get your fans all worked up about pre-saving when you ain't delivering something worth pre-saving to begin with. Not that DGMGF is bad or something, I actually genuinely liked it, I guess it obviously just didn't seem like something real to me. You know what I mean? I'm not going through this again. That's for sure. Edited November 6, 2023 by Kesha Slays 4 Quote
Ice Prince Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Past the initial disappointment with Don't Get Mad, Get Famous, now I'm just ignoring its existence, lol. Nice she's trying to score a TikTok hit with it and I truly hope it works. But I have the certainty that it's not indicative of a new creative direction or anything. I mean, since addressing tracks on TikTok *comment section*, she referred to it just as a shitshow that she could release for said platform, and she just did. I don't see any problem at all with the upcoming tracks and album, I mean, many of us have heard it from the leaks and we know it's not a collection of unfinished demos at the risk of being cut to 1:10 songs like DGMGF was (since the leak, we all knew it was unfinished). It could've been better and fully fleshed out? Yes. Was it? No. Does it mean the album will be cursed and she will become a TikTok-trend chasing artist? Not at all! Plus she's referred to a few more singles coming out so I don't really think we should worry about the album becoming a TikTok-pandering songs collection or anything. Ngl I haven't listened to Bonnie in a while (I'm trying not to overplay the singles for when the album drops), but I've been enthusiastic about the album since SLAY was released. DGMGF is like a little promotional thingy in this campaign, what if it doesn't even make the cut? I don't think anyone would be completely shattered if it's left off the album - but if it does (once again), it's on streaming now at least. I lowkey want her to announce the next single already, late November would be a great moment if she wants to continue dropping tracks in early 2024 to promote the record for it to release in the middle of the year. 2 Quote

A song i used to listen to 10 years ago no one really knew about is suddenly viral for it's instrumental. it's all just luck. Her one fan she hangs out with liam kinda made a good one where it transitions into him performing on a stage since it makes sense. It has 521 views and 34 likes. Slay with that one tiktoker e.mo.tions has 9k likes & 68k views. This had more a more versatile and broad meaning to make many tiktoks. And the hot city one is at 40k likes and 300k views with the same tiktoker but they used the instrumental only. Kesha has been using tikokers for promo lately so maybe Bonnie should reach out to these two if tiktok is something she / her team really want to take seriously and try to get some traction there. I doubt theres any money in asking artist friends to make tiktoks with you if she wants to go that route and have them do that off stage on stage thing. There's ways to be resourceful and creative but idk what her team is doing with her. She wrongfully duetted that one guy's tiktok that has 5.5M followers when she could've had some traffic leading them to her if she would've done it right and caused exposure to new people. I feel like I'm over analyzing her / their moves here but you kinda have to be this calculated when it comes to tiktok. It's disheartening to KNOW she has a team that's NOT helping her. That's what bothers me, from my perspective it seems like they're not organized. I wish they took the time to properly set her up to succeed rather than leave her to her figure it out. Before you or anyone think. i'm coming for bonnie, i'm not. I'm directing this at her so called team that wants her to "make it" on tiktok. Because they're obviously not doing anything to help her or guide her. Then there's the possibility of her being shadow banned on tiktok that's also holding her back. In short they need to learn to play their cards better to benefit not only bonnie but themselves. I get it! It's hard and unpredictable and it's a black box. But for artists with Bonnie's profile, music quality and genre, she has very few options for distribution outside of playing the TikTok game. Even labels are making artists do similar things. That's the problem with business that is the opposite of a meritocracy and runs almost entirely on mystery math and luck and has 0 real gatekeepers. I just don't want to begrudge Bonnie for trying everything to get her music heard. DGMGF was never one of her most treasured demos (as evidenced by how many of you were surprised and disappointed to hear it was the next "single") and I don't think we should pretend every song needs to be treated as sacred. As fans I think we should be less critical and more understanding of some of these difficult choices. She could easily pull the plug on ALL of this. That said... the presave thing is so fishy and bogus. It is not a good system. We shouldn't have to sign up with these shady third party sites in order to support artist on a separate streaming platform—or for a functionality that no one needed and doesn't even work. It's giving scam, both for us and for Bonnie. Edited November 6, 2023 by Jennys Girlfriend 1 Quote

You're right - although at least speaking for me, I'm not pretending that. It just felt very evident that any other song could've been chosen. Furthermore, DGMGF was a little disregarded by Bonnie herself when she addressed it on that TikTok comment. Ngl I never even imagined it would be released, considering the rest of the songs we know. 5 hours ago, Jennys Girlfriend said: As fans I think we should be less critical and more understanding of some of these difficult choices. Also, little thing here, I disagreed with the DGMGF single choice, evidently. But is it a bad thing being critical? I mean, calling out this song because is not on level with its predecessors and the rest of the sessions is not precisely a bad thing. In the end, we're not hating on her for releasing it (yeah at first I was disappointed and somewhat annoyed but it's not like I'm unstanning or anything). As I pointed in my previous post, okay, she dropped it, so be it. Personally is not my fave so I'll just let it pass and wait till the next single. I think it's more than clear we'll still be here and support her and the project. We were here for years of drought (not only the Epic album, but literally nothing substantial was released after Mad Mad World in 2018) yet here we were - and here we'll be once the album is out! Though you're right - I'll try and moderate my words on situations like my personal disappointment with DGMGF - I don't doubt she'd lurk here or any other forum every now and then. If you're reading this, Bonnie, we still love you, and we cannot wait for the album! 2 Quote

Popular Post K.K. Zeno Posted November 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 7, 2023 (edited) I said it here before and I said it during her IG live for Hot City's music video. I Wanna Fucking Call You is the one song she has to push if she wants to score a TikTok hit. The rest of the album is glorious and I'll worship until the end of my life, but I Wanna Fucking Call You truly has the potential to go viral on the platform due to its ear candy lyrics and synths. Once the song will be released someone MUST make an edit on the song's bridge, replacing her phone's notification with Grindr's Edited November 7, 2023 by K.K. Zeno 8 Quote

konnichiwalski Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 So as per tiktok comments, she wants to do a extended version for DGMGF with a feature but she needs people streaming/using the song on tiktok to blow it up so she can do it. 1 1 1 Quote

Ice Prince Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Oop, she addressed people's disappointment with DGMGF length on Instagram. I just had to slide my comment on the low and I see apparently I was one of the very few on the 'I care for a song's length' side, so I bet I'll be dragged at some point. Anyways, here's to hoping she's actually been reading our thread somehow and I hope she knows we want the album AND the other dark album she did around 2019-20... maybe a much shorter in-between-albums gap this time around? 1 Quote
cocomong Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 She needs to move on from DGMGF and soon. I get the holidays are coming up and she doesn't like to release during the holidays but the song isn't doing what she thought it would and to be frank, it won't. It just doesn't have that factor to "go viral" but i do agree the faster she gets through this album she can start teasing the new dark album and the gaps definitely need to be shorter. She gained traction with slay waited too long and hot city was not coming in as hard. and well look where we are now. her / her team's....to say the least plan or strategies theyre using are NOT well thought out or even effective that's what bothers me. Not the "quality" of the music. the music is good, it's just idk what the fuck they're doing bts. 1 Quote
