Dddd I miserably failed at printing my CD today 'cause after it was pointed out that Forever 21 was the perfect closer it was bugging me all day :cypher: I think I finally came up with a better tracklist for it, although as @Bambi101 said, Forever 21 flows perfectly into Hot City. I had it that way in my tracklist and it was so good! But I think I'll let that go. So here is what I will be probably using from now on:

  1. American Girl
  2. S.L.A.Y.
  3. Hot City
  4. I Wanna Fucking Call You
  5. Jenny's Got a Boyfriend
  6. Electric Heaven
  7. Somebody's Gonna Get Hurt
  8. Everything But You
  9. Unlock Your Love
  10. Rewind Your Heart
  11. Stars In Your Heart
  12. Forever 21
  13. Hit Me Up CD / "regional" bonus track
  14. Waking Up Diagonal CD / "regional" bonus track

If something else leaks, even if it's Wild Card or Right Now, I'll put it on a b-sides EP I guess, along with all the other songs I didn't include

I love how consistent you are with Unlock Your Flop :cackle: Girl, I love you, but you know that song's spot could've been taken by I Don't Care (Bonnie's Version) as it should! :dealwithit: So then you could use Sleepwalker as track 14 :hottie:

Besides that you have a flawless tracklist and I can respect your decision to place F21 as the album closer altho I use My So-Called Life for that because I wanted to have a lil cute uptempo ballad moment and I feel like it's a pretty authentic potrayal of her stage in life and overall character in that point in time. Almost has that somewhat nostalgic Wasted Youth quality to it but not as depressing. Forever 21 achieves the same thing.

I love Unlock Your Love as well! It's got this weird eerie vibe, and I adore it so much. Plus the "I got the key if you want to play baby" is just perfect.

Given the mess this whole has been and how many years I’ve waited. I’m not picky about the quality or versions. I’m just glad I don’t have to listen to YouTube videos anymore.

I think the live version is actually better. @reflectionmade a really good live remake. The one that leaked is missing the oooohs (which are extremely impactful; they're one of the reasons I love the song.) It would probably be better to stream the performance she did at yahoo than the one that leaked. It's missing everything, so the puzzle isn't complete yet.

Forever 21 is a massive bop. Whoever leaked it, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I can't explain how it feels to finally have the studio version of this song. I still remember listening to American Girl for the first time back in 2013. It was everything I loved about pop music: upbeat, campy, fun. I instantly started stanning Bonnie. I wasn't very internet savvy back then, so I was constantly getting updates on Bonnie through her Wikipedia page 💀 Trying to get information on when she would release the second single, or when the album would come out. When she was dropped from Epic I was devasted because I knew the album wasn't coming. Then we got those LQ videos of her performing tracks from the Epic album at different events... I had those performances on repeat, that's how thirsty I was for the album. It honestly felt like this day would never come, and to sit here and have (my version) of the Epic album in my iTunes library... it's just beyond words. In all honesty, tonight is a pretty emotional night for me, and I feel like only the people on this forum can understand why that is. Whoever would've thought we'd get the complete album over a decade later? We finally made it, girls.

So beautifully put and I teared up a little while reading because it's insane how we all have that shared memory of finding out about American Girl, the disappointment that followed when the album got scrapped, and ultimately all the stuff inbetween that lead us to meet each other here. I'll never forget that iconic summer in 2013!!!

Do you guys think it's hard to go on living (as a musician) knowing you created one of the finest pop records of all time brimming with gigantic hits (Forever 21, Hot City, Everything But You), yet you never got to have your Katy Perry moment? Especially when you perservered through all the initial setbacks, obstacles, failures, put in the hard work and all that. Bonnie had the exact same trajectory as Katy, Gaga, and Lana (i.e. got signed at a young age, put out a commercial flop, had her second album shelved and subsequently got dropped from the label)--it's just that Katy/Gaga/Lana managed to bounce back before they reached their mid 20s whereas Bonnie was past the age when pop girls are most marketable (we love an ageist industry) and due to writing songs for Katy/Kesha the public came to associate quote unquote Bonnie's style with those girls. I still think that even if she released Roar in 2014 it would've flopped... the public just wasn't willing to embrace another girl serving pure pop, especially one that didn't get to establish herself before turning 30 and close-minded people judged her harshly for that (remember all those comments under the American Girl music video talking about how she's desperate/should act her age etc??).

Looking back, it makes me feel so sad and devastated for her.
