Kim Kardashian Held at Gunpoint, Kanye Cancels Show

The gunmen were posing as cops and Kim was held at gunpoint.  We're told she was badly shaken but unharmed.

We don't know if the gunmen made off with any of her stuff.

As for Kanye ... he was performing at the Meadows Festival in Queens, NY -- Yeezy was jamming in the middle of "Heartless" when he cut the music and made the announcement, stunning the crowd.

Holy shit, is this for real?  I heard about Kanye leaving his show but I lowkey thought he was making up the "family emergency" shit...This is insane. How did they even get past her security?

Right? Some people are so gross when it comes to her... I was talking to my mum about this earlier and she said it was Kim's fault that she was held at gunpoint because she flaunts her jewellery to much.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan has been all but silent on social media since Kim was assaulted; Kendall left Paris Fashion Week early; Kim cancelled public appearances, and there are rumors that her social media strategy going forward will be way, way tamer than her typical all-access sharing. 

The Kardashians' ubiquity in the public eye—and particularly, Kim's often ostentatious displays of wealth—have been pointed at as reasons for the burglary. This is blatant victim-blaming, but it is worth asking whether Kim and her family really want to be in the spotlight while they recover from a probably traumatizing ordeal. 

E!, of course, is happy to comply with the family's wishes. The Kardashians have been huge draws for the network for years, and executives would never risk tarnishing that relationship. Still, with her position in the zeitgeist perhaps for the first time out of her (or her mother's) control, we wouldn't be surprised if Kim and Kanye sit down with Diane Sawyer to talk about the incident soon. We, of course, wish the best for Kim and her family during this time and hope the thieves are brought to justice soon. 

In the meantime, it's worth wondering: What if the show never comes back? Will the Kardashian-Jenner clan's star fade, or will it take a different form? What program will fill KUWTK's vacuum? What does a Keeping Up-less TV landscape even look like? 

Kind of an odd move - even if Kim wasn't up for cameras there's like six other girls they could focus on? And ngl, it would have made for great TV to see ha breakdown...

It is really strange cause they've never not shown anything that's happened to them, incase it's shook her that much.... wouldn't keep it gone to long people would forget about them not seeing them on them everyweek.

I know, right? Maybe she's holding out so she can do an "exclusive" interview with E about the whole incident or something and make some cash off it, kinda like what Caitlyn did after she came out as trans. Poor Kris tho, she must be missing the limelight.
