Even though the whole twisted fairytale thing is getting kinda boring at this point, this does look pretty good! The special effects look pretty and I'm always here for Meryl (even though I'm sure Johnny will try and take over the whole film like he does with everything :morning:). I'm pissed that little girl from Ellen isn't gonna be in it tho. :stretcher:

Dang, what an epic cast! Anna Kendrick looks really good! Although, I don't really get this film from the trailer. Is it like intertwined fairytales with one common enemy?

Tbh I don't get the Anna Kendrick hype. Like she's pretty, but she's not the greatest actor or singer or anything imo. It's like Mia Whatthefucksmyname 2.0.

But all I know about the movie is it was based on a play...possibly a musical? And yeah, I think it combines a lot of different fairytales together.

I think I like more her personality. Same goes with Emma Stone. That and Emma Stone is gorgeous.

Ooooh okay. I haven't seen any interviews with her or anything so I don't know anything about her personality tbqh. But yeah Emma is flawless and a pretty good actor too imo. I want to hang out with her! :(

I went to see this today and was pleasantly surprised! :hail:  I was expecting a twisted fairytale Malificent style, but the film turned out to have some interesting things to say about childhood and fairytales. There were a lot of weird things packed back in there (like the rape scene, the death scene, and the fact that the whole second half was basically a horror movie) but somehow it all kind of worked for me. I really enjoyed it!

Did you watch the musical? I hear most people hate that part of the broadway show.

Afaik it's never toured Australia so I've never had the chance to see it! I wouldn't be surprised if they brought it out here now that the movie's been quite successful tho. But I actually really liked the second half of the movie, I thought it was pretty ingenious to look at the fairytales as some post-apocalyptic horror film and a million times more interesting than any of the reimagined fairytales I've seen. My only problem was that it seemed kind of disjointed but I think that would be less of a problem with an intermission in between.
