Main Pop Girl Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Ex Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger revealed recently that she turned down the opportunity to record ‘We Found Love’, the song by Rihanna and Calvin Harris which became a hit last year. ”I passed on ‘We Found Love’,” she admitted to Notion magazine. “I got the demo of that song and I was busy at the time. They’d sent me a few dance tracks and I wasn’t able to get to them and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s so much dance and I want to take a break from it’. That was my fault. I slept on it.” Scherzinger went on to confirm that she also turned down Gnarls Barkley’s hit ‘Crazy’, and that during her time as a Pussycat Doll they rejected the idea of singing ‘Just Dance’, made famous by Lady Gaga. It is also rumoured that Nicole turned down Jennifer Lopez’s ‘On The Floor’, although this has not been confirmed by Scherzinger herself. Interestingly, she is the second singer to regret rejecting ‘We Found Love’, after British songstress Leona Lewis confirmed recently that she too had missed out on releasing the track after releasing ‘Collide’ as the first single from her ill-fated Glassheart album. Would you like to hear Nicole’s versions of these songs? Would they even have been hits if she had sung them? Let us know what you think in the comments below! [/html] Quote
trayertrash Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Considering her whole solo career has been a flop, I doubt they would've been hits if sung by her. Quote
Cypher Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 The songs partially got big because of the artist. Whether it was the name, image, or promotion. I highly doubt Scherzinger would have made them #1 singles. She has some really good tracks on her solo album, but look where they went. Nowhere. Quote
Pussy Like Pepsi Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Yeah, she didn't actually turn down hits, they wouldn't have been hits if they were her songs. I love Nicole but that's the truth. I mean if Rihanna sang any of Nicole's songs it would be a hit, just like Nicole could sing any of Rihanna's songs and it wouldn't be a hit. Sorry. Quote
Erotica Revolution Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 She not recorded a demo for On the Floor, although this is a rumor. RedOne confirmed on Twitter at a time. But, as for these songs, I think they would be as successful as the versions of true artists. But her time will come, I'm sure of it! Quote
