  1. I agree! The slower intro caught me off guard, but the polish really makes such a difference. It's been touched up, cleaned up, and tightened! I didn't necessarily think the og was "annoying" but I would find the speed of the song a little tiresome after a few listens. The production on this version totally removes those feelings!
  2. I LOVE. I can't believe how well everything has been during this rebirth era, considering she's funding it all herself and DIY a lot of the sets, costumes, etc. Bonnie truly deserves her flowers and more
  3. Some actual wisely timed promo!
  4. I remember reading that it was first pitched to Britney! I couldn't remember if I made that up though. I'm glad it's finally been settled.
  5. hmm welp, either way, I'm glad we got the song in a leak, better than nothing!
  6. I've been waiting forever to hear this. The majority of the song sounds pretty on point with Britney's voice!
  7. Epic owns the publishing rights as well?? I thought Epic only owned the masters.
  8. I don't think it's meant to come off facetious. In this video, he's clarifying the difference between the 2 industries because Dua genuinely didn't seem to know his perspective. She took it from an angle of a singer. Moreover, when you examine Penn's interviews, this diction isn't too far away from his norm, so it could just be that it didn't translate well into text. I'm beginning to think maybe that's where the criticism is coming from. I've followed Penn for quite a while through his career (skipped Gossip Girl though), and I'm pretty confident in that, he's not trying to start beef or dislikes Dua, it's just reading and interjecting tone vs hearing the actual tone can make a huge difference. And tbh, in this video, Dua sorta writes him off anecdotally at the end where she essentially discounts his perspective as an actor. I don't think either party is trying to start something, it's just a difference in industry. https://youtu.be/p45Zs7ZOCoY
  9. I don't know how old you are, but if you're in the stage of life where you're working and you've been able to go straight into a high paying job without having to work entry level jobs, then I love that for you. The majority of people don't have this type of privilege.
  10. I don't see what's wrong with his response in its entire context. Having a problem with Penn's response would be the same as having a problem with Kesha's response to her old pop albums or even Gaga's dismissal of some of her past material. In any career, there are the shit jobs you have to take in order to hone your skills and build up a strong reputation. Penn's just addressing that he doesn't like the question "What drew you to this project" because not every project was his "best and most personal performance where he went full method and the role meant the world to him." To me, it sounds like this headline was intentionally written just to skew the narrative and when read in context, it's a perfectly fine answer. I worked babysitting gigs and retail before getting into my career. Nothing drew me to those jobs, I just needed money to pay for my higher education. If that means I don't exude chivalry, then the mall I used to work at can kiss my ass. 👄
  11. I can't even tell if this is a troll of a desperate ask for attention/new Lolene music.
  12. I hope he knows just how much of an impact he's made on multiple generations. RIP a legend, the world is a better place because of his contributions.
  13. YES! I would also kill for a Julia solo version of JB's Friends. I know she hopped on the remix, but a solo version of just her would be absolutely amazing!
  14. Is anyone able to AI Julia Michael's voice over Hailee Steinfeld's debut EP, HAIZ? I was listening to it today and I could totally imagine it in Julia's raspier voice and now I need to hear it tangibly.
  15. The other day, G.R.L.'s "Vacation" came on, and it reignited the thought process that there's a version with Bonnie's vocals floating around somewhere, unheard by the masses.
  16. I love this! Queen of budgeting
  17. I would love to hear her explore more of the droplet/collab era. "Back to You", "Bad Liar", "Fetish", "It Ain't Me", and "Wolves" were all stellar. I loved the majority of Rare, esp those Deluxe tracks, but I would also welcome a slightly left-veering sound.
  18. I love her humour
  19. Selena's next era visuals, I can already see it
  20. The production totally saves the song. I was about to yawn until the production kicked in. It could use a bit more work, but I could see potential in it!
  21. This is the highest form of compliment I have ever received. Thank you so much bestie
  22. Maybe it's your misunderstanding of semantics, but just because someone records a song, does not mean it was "written for" them. Julia has gone on record to say that "Anxiety" was written, Selena heard it, and then wanted to jump on it. So by the same logic, the song wasn't "written for Selena."
  23. I hope I don't get crucified for this, but I listened to her live performance of the song and I don't think it lives up to some of her other material. "Slay" and "Forever 21" definitely sound more distinct and memorable. It's by no means a bad song, but I'm not chasing it. If it leaks, great! If it doesn't, that's okay too.
  24. I liked her work with The Cataracs, but a decade ago when it came out. It's def targeted to pre-teens going to their first school dance. I can't imagine being in Selena's shoes, a 30-year-old being asked to record those types of songs. I can't really even imagine a 30-year-old fan asking for this type of material from her now.
