  1. This one is more directly commercial, they are in severe need of a ghey stylist to rescue them from these clearly horrific heterosexual wardrobe choices though: .. I feel it would benefit from a more 7th Heaven or Matt Pop Club orientated mix though. Irrespective of styling, the music hits that sweet spot, in a way the Cutebad tracks are trying (but failing) to.
  2. I’m going to check EMM out in more depth when I have the chance. Have you ever heard of Poppy Baskcomb? She’s been cropping up in my recommendations for quite some time and I’m really enjoying what I hear.
  3. Just had a chance to listen to the EMM album all the way through (as she appealed to me most) and I like what I heard - on first listen the track “Devil In Disguise” is a particular standout so thanks for introducing me to her.
  4. I’m definitely going to explore these. I also have a side appreciation for the more eclectic/arty side of the pop spectrum too.
  5. None of us truly know the machinations of what she has had to endure during her interactions with different elements of industry. it appears she has been let down by a lot of well connected people. Some of whom clearly affiliated to management teams of artists she formally wrote for, tying her down to an assortment of sunset clauses and NDA’s, angry she elected to forge her own path and chose to carve out her own destiny out-with the shadow of those artists. Equally, raw talent in combination to an instinct for business, are two entirely separate disciplines and not qualities necessarily attributable to those who are artistically gifted. It is clear that being industry black listed by those affiliated to a portion of her former clients in correlation to her own lack of business acumen have become a cross she unfortunately must bear (at least for now). Her stamina in opposing such less than ideal circumstances and swimming upstream in opposition to them is impressive and I for one (as I’m sure many of you do too) continue to wish her nothing but luck and success in navigating them better (with the benefit of experience and hindsight) in future.
  6. Interesting new interview that finally goes a little deeper than the puff pieces we’ve mostly had up to now: https://www.dazeddigital.com/life-culture/article/56816/1/sugababes-mutya-buena-keisha-buchanan-siobhan-donaghy-interview-tour-2022
  7. What are your recommended personal new artist/ group suggestions to other forum members? Regardless of how or where you discovered them? Which new/ breaking/ current/ low profile artists should we be supporting that are passing other forum members by? This is YOUR discussion thread conjunct to your place to drop links to whatever up and coming new artists/ groups YOU think should have a higher profile in order to reach their intended audience. To get the ball rolling I would like to ask my fellow arthouse leaning/ foppish gheys, can we please support this artist? She appears a rich untapped source of melody with something going on under the hood that if nourished and shaped could provide us with more melodies - (think an ALDI/ LIDL answer to Susanne Sundför): Planningtomakeloveeasy (Remix): Artist page:
  8. You do good work and you are an absolute legend and I do admire Bonnie greatly too but I don’t think a career re-launch with a title that pivots towards the one thing the music industry values in women (youth) and the one thing she is kissing goodbye to.. is such a wise choice.
  9. Because these originally leaked in different stages (stemming from over a decade ago) and I have only sporadically given them attention over that time period, there was one from WAY back titled “Excuse My French” (& potentially others) that now appear inexplicably absent from what in the present, is now considered the full 49 track “X”, 3xCDr master list. Presumably, that track is now absent as it has been re-categorised/ identified in the intervening years as potentially from another era, or for some other reason (anyone know why)? I vaguely remember some now apparently long forgotten drama over whether Kylie was on lead vocals on that one or not (I happened to believe on that particular track she was - but a certain other group of fans believed otherwise) and even went so far as to apply weird pitch bending vocal effects to it in audacity to alter the vocal to make it sound less like her (and more like a random) to prove a point, leading to not only the music (but the facts of the matter) becoming a distorted (and at least then) unresolved mess! Regardless of what the truth of that particular vocal ultimately was - that would surely NOT be the reason behind it’s omission from what is now considered the entire 3xCDr master list in this present time, as various other “pitch demos” (that were/ are very obviously NOT Kylie), have got dragged forward into certain fan specific ‘X’ era collections.
  10. Best song of her career.
  11. I wanna say yes, but don’t close myself to the possibility someone could produce a previously unknown even later stage (pre Kylie vox) production demo & claim it’s that instead. However, it goes without saying that vocal is obviously not Britney Spears, though she (& not Kylie) was clearly the originally intended recipient of that track. If only Kylie hadn’t lost her momentum in the U.S. when rejecting “Toxic” in favour of serving them HER perception of R&B and building “Body Language” around that - then perhaps subsequent writers would have been more inclined to wrap their work around Kylie’s style (and not Britney’s), but alas that’s parallel universe stuff.
  12. 10 are still missing .. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hQQrz4KXchKpyNQCoUC-ml8h8yCOoDHI/view?fbclid=IwAR31tPi-NNhs1gk-uWwOle5IjsQZIXuKPDMsyc0I2xUWmd3U5cauGyu9HAs .. If someone without a ‘fan curated’ version has the other 10, please post.
  13. Does anyone have the original, unedited, 3xCD, 49 track complete collection of ‘X’ demos (preferably in lossless), still intact? From before questionable fan logic dictated what did (and did not) matter based on random perceptions of what tracks were hot (and what ones were not) and whether Kylie was on vocals (or not)? 1.Rippin Up The Disco 2.Down Down 3.Nudity (Ruff Edit) 4.Sexual Gold (Demo) 5.Cherry Bomb (Ruff Edit) 6.Heart Beat Rock 7.When The Song Comes On 8.Guess 9.Ooh 10.My Love Is Real 11.Classic Transit 12.I Can't Help That 13.Acid Min 14.Osmondosis 15.Simple Boy 16.One to One (Not Kylie) 17.Give Up To Love (Not Kylie) 18.Never Be Lonely (Not Kylie) 19.To The 9's (Not Kylie) 20.Two Hearts 21.Can't Get Enough (Not Kylie) 22.No More Rain (Demo) 23.In My Arms (Demo) 24.Stars (Demo) 25.What's It Gonna Take? 26.Hush Hush (same as Sexual Gold) 27.Fall For You (Version #1) 28.Fall For You (Version #2) 29.Don't Know What It Is (Demo) 30.Right Here Right Now 31.Ruffle My Feathers 32.Like Love 33.You Make Me Feel 34.The One 35.Love Attack 36.Extra Ordinary Day 37.Something to Believe In 38.Come Down 39.You're Hot 40.Sensitized (Demo) 41.Lose Control 42.Tell You Why (Not Kylie) 43.Like A Drug (Mastermix)[Not Kylie] 44.The Reason (Not Kylie) 45.Into The Light (Not Kylie) 46.Tell It Like It Is (Not Kylie) 47.Tell Me That It's Over (Pitch) 48.We Are (Not Kylie) 49.Drop The Pressure (Not Kylie)
  14. Thank You 😉
  15. Hi, I’m Dax, I do not feel specifically nostalgic for any decade’s music over any other (though I have my favourite artists with music I want). I typically gravitate toward female artists over male. Unlike certain other gays I have encountered I don’t confront guitars with a crucifix & holy water and though I like Soul, I dislike corporate R&B. Though totally stoic by nature & discreet, I was unfortunately born without any genuine sense of subtlety or tact, so please don’t feel offended by my sometimes clumsy mode of expression. I believe in peace, free love, worshiping the D & exploring paganism. Below is a (non inclusive) list of example artists I either love/ collect (or intend to expand upon collecting physically) & the eras they originated from: 60s The Supremes, Nancy Sinatra, Dusty Springfield, The Crystals, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Ronettes, All female Motown artists. 70s Blondie, Kate Bush, Donna Summer, Olivia Newton-John, Suzie Quattro, The Runaways, Grace Jones, Rachel Sweet, Gloria Gaynor, Kirsty MacColl, Abba, Sharon Redd, The Three Degrees 80s Kim Wilde, Tracy Ullman, Toyah, Bananarama, Debbie Harry, Madonna, Sandra, Hazell Dean, Eurythmics/ Annie Lennox, The Bangles/ Susanna Hoffs, Maria McKee, Valerie Dore, The GoGo’s/ Belinda Carlisle, Voice of the Beehive, T’Pau, Whitney Houston, The Divinyls, Lush, The Primitives, Kylie, Enya, Debbie Gibson, Sonia, Shakespear’s Sister, Throwing Muses, Betty Boo, Cathy Dennis, The Beloved, Roxette, Tori Amos, Texas, Taylor Dayne, Expose 90s Saint Etienne, Dannii Minogue, Julianna Hatfield, Tasmin Archer, Sheryl Crow, Shampoo, Ace of Base, Lightning Seeds, Belly, Kristin Hersh, Garbage, Echobelly, Morcheeba, Dodgy, Dubstar, Crush, Sleeper, Elastica, Salad, Spice Girls, All Saints, The Corrs, Liz Phair, The Cardigans, Shania Twain, Dixie Chicks, Gina G, Robyn, Geri Halliwell, Steps, Britney, S Club, Scooch, B*witched, Theaudience, P!nk, Atomic Kitten, Shed 7 00’s Michelle Branch, Moloko/ Roisin Murphy, Scissor Sisters, Holly Valance, Sugababes/ Siobhan Donaghy, Girls Aloud, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Rachel Stevens, Jo O’ Meara, Kim Marsh, Alphabeat, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Susanne Sundfør, Agnes Obel, Dum Dum Girls, The Saturdays, Eternal Summers, Jenny Lewis, Florence & The Machine, Paloma Faith 10’s Lissie, Best Coast, Grimes, Sky Ferriera, Break Horses, Selena Gomez, Marissa Nadler, Weyes Blood, Jessica Pratt, Liz Lawrence, London Grammar, Aldous Harding, Widowspeak, Tennis, Lana Del Rey, Caroline Rose, Allie X, Honeyblood, Saint Saviour, Joseph, Ex Hex, Olivia Rodrigo, Jade Bird, Black Honey, Sunflower Bean, Kristin Kontrol, Purple Disco Machine, Soccer Mommy, Geowulf, Hazel English, King Princess, Molly Burch, Holiday Sidewinder, The Courettes 20’s (exploring only, pre purchase at this time) Wet Leg, Riki, Bunny X, Winona Oak ———————————— [Artists I just don’t vibe with & therefore have no/ limited interest in]: Tiffany, Pet Shop Boys, Pussycat Dolls, Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato, Charli XCX, Banks, (Post ‘Halcyon’ era) Ellie Goulding, Mariah (in non dance remix form), Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé. Mostly anything male centric (exceptions being Dead or Alive, Erasure, The Dandy Warhols, Scissor Sisters, Beck, John Grant, Purple Disco Machine). ———————————— Though I have a large CD collection, I don’t necessarily have EVERYTHING by the above or instant access to my collection due to storage/ travel/ intermittent broadband access.
