  1. Don’t quite know what I was on when I wrote this but anyway - to celebrate the official release of “Hot City”, does anyone still have the 8 or so original lossless files that leaked over time?
  2. Sad to have missed out on the silver vinyl. It was already sold out before I found out they were doing physical copies. https://sugababes.tmstor.es/product/119745
  3. “The Lost Tapes” limited edition black vinyl, released 15th Sep. Available for pre-order now. https://sugababes.tmstor.es/product/119749
  4. Whilst the above was an hour speaking to the relevant participants on BTDYK’s creation, the below is a further hour + speaking to the key players and architects behind the circumstances of the video and the making of it. Evolution Vs. Revolution: “As great a song as it is, "Better The Devil You Know" would not have been anywhere near as impactful as it was without its accompanying music video. A landmark in Kylie Minogue's career, the video transformed her image from that of girl-next-door to "sex kitten", according to director Paul Goldman, who joins us to detail the before, during and aftermath of the shoot, including his run-ins with PWL over the direction it took. Stylist Nicole Bonython-Hines recalls piecing together the various looks for the video and manager Terry Blamey gives his thoughts on why the video was so important for Kylie. We also hear from Sharon McPhilemy and David Howells from PWL about the reaction from Kylie's UK label to the new-look star. Then, Kylie's long-time musical director, Steve Anderson, talks us through their enduring relationship with the song and how it has been reinterpreted on tour over the decades”.
  5. I don’t get a sense of that from social media but she’s definitely ‘gone dark’ which suggests she doesn’t want any attention on whatever creative stuff she’s working on, out of the public gaze.
  6. Dua is apparently working with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala for her upcoming album: Not a direction I ever saw her heading in, which only makes me all the more excited for the result/s.
  7. For those of you previously unaware, the below podcast series “A Journey Through S.A.W” ⬇️ (on its 57th episode), has for some time now been sequentially documenting in forensic detail the work of the (now considered legendary) music producers Stock/ Aitken/ Waterman, who were behind the creation of the majority of Kylie’s first four studio albums (and first ever Greatest Hits Collection) - at a pace of one single (and album era) at a time. The podcast series overall, does not merely focus on Kylie (some of its other episodes also document the single releases of every other artist that Kylie’s former music producers SAW ever worked with in sequentially chronological date order). The podcast has now reached “Better The Devil You Know” the first single from Kylie’s third studio album (“Rhythm of Love“) and in the below episode, the podcast creators speak directly and not only to the aforementioned songwriters/ producers behind the song’s creation - but also to the studio technicians and backing vocalists who contributed to the development of the track too! Over time the podcast has steadily grown in reputation which has now culminated in Kylie’s (almost never before heard from) original and longtime, former manager - Terry Blamey, giving the show a revealingly insightful interview. Terry steered Kylie’s career (around the globe, out-with the U.S. market) to the pinnacle of fame that she achieved prior to “Padam”. In the above episode ⬆️ you will learn how this ⬇️ (much later finally revealed) version of BTDYK was initially being lined up to be the version that (at one point) almost got released commercially in place of the much more dynamic and definitive mix that we know and love today. In the above episode, the podcast documents the events unfolding behind the scenes that ultimately led to why that mix (at the time) never saw the light of day and why the track was remixed prior to its actual debut release: Although the song’s video has long since gone down in music history to be iconic in its own right - the world’s (and my own) first pre-release introduction to not only BTDYK but also to Kylie’s (at that time) new image for a then brand new decade and her third studio album era - was on this ⬇️ television performance (which has sadly been doctored by YouTube itself) from some time prior to the drop of the actual video: The radio mix of BTDYK was simultaneously released with (and edited down from) its even more magical “The Mad March Hare Mix“.
  8. As a lot of you appear to have followed Ariana since her Nickelodeon days, it felt remiss in not having an all encompassing general discussion thread surrounding the topic of her. Additionally, as there have been so many leaks by Ariana of late, it feels now is an appropriate cue for her more ardent and devoted fans to (in collaboration), establish a multi-era tracker and career overview of all her leaked material here (it’s up to you to be motivated in applying your knowledge of that unreleased material to co-create a master tracker for her)! If you are a self confessed Arianator and you are not focused on co-operatively building towards that goal, then why in your view is that not deserving of a spanky? 😉 I personally discovered her through nightclubs via the optics of her early Eric Kupper (and then bootleg) ‘Cosmic Dawn’ remixes: Previous rumors suggested veteran producer Nile Rodgers (famous for a more syncopated style of music than what Ariana is atypically known for - on her main releases) was invited to co-produce at least one (as yet unspecified) key track, specifically intended for her next studio album: Unconnected to this, It has now been widely reported that Ariana registered a new track titled “Shoot My Heart” which either may (or may not) eventuate to be a forthcoming song from her next studio album. If not - it may instead be a contribution to the “Wicked” soundtrack. As a side note - In the event (however slight) that any of y’all randomly uncover this puffa in the racks of one of your local clothing emporiums, come to me - I need it, I have been searching for it for a VERY long time at this point and my PM’s are always open 💋:
  9. So.. the old snippet from springtime is even getting uploaded to YouTube now: 🙄 .. and still the wait for the full track continues.
  10. In case Jessie Ware has never quite won you over, be aware that Roisin partners with Jessie on a re-recording of a track that began life as a solo Jessie track from her album. The track is titled “Freak Me Now”: Behind the scenes featurette: It was already strangely apparent Roisin’s DNA was on this track back when Jessie’s original solo version dropped with the release of her “Feels So Good!” album.
  11. Whenever I update then burn my own ‘Best of Steps’ type CD retrospectives, I typically include and make room for those two at the expense of some lesser Steps singles.
  12. A Welsh Pride performance (during “Euphoria” album promo) from last month of Claire (and H), performing their debut single (and second biggest bop overall) originating from that time period we don’t speak of:
  13. I agree. There is talk Hannah had to hire her own lawyer to get out of this reunion as she remains contractually obliged to be a part of it (having signed up to most of the activities that fall under the scope of the reunion, prior to Paul’s death). Simon Fuller is the type who would ordinarily sue for breach of those contractual obligations but it appears even he realizes how bad the optics are of suing the grieving ex-girlfriend of a now deceased group member (that being the presumed reason why Hannah is no longer there). It does feel too soon since Paul passed for them to be embarking on this tour (and the separate matter of an apparent studio album that both Alison and Dermot were remiss in not asking the five about during their most recent “This Morning” interview). I’m close to where this is unfolding and the consensus of water cooler gossip is that it’s “sad” they (including Simon Fuller), are so desperate to milk the reunion cash cow that they are prepared to put profit before any genuine empathy towards Hannah or her grieving process. There’s no way the U.K. tabloids won’t be after an interview with her whereby she presents her side of what has gone down (there are two sides to every story after-all) plus the fact that she has yet to step out of her grief bubble to even give so much as a short interview is very telling not only about her grief but also about what she might have to say about Simon Fuller. No doubt the first thing her own independently hired lawyer would have advised her is, if she criticizes him and his business methods in the media, then she faces financial ruination.
  14. Loving “Knock On Wood” and goosebump induced by its acapella. Gorl! Whoever you are (love of LSL aside), just know you are doing God’s work and your efforts are noted and appreciated x https://krakenfiles.com/view/LAVqdHch4z/file.html
  15. So over this already. It’s too far away and I just don’t care.
  16. Dannii: “Girl - 25th Anniversary Edition” 4xCD (Plus 1 Bonus CD): Delayed Deluxe Edition of Dannii’s third studio album from 1997 and the first time Xenomania fully entered the public consciousness and were also given a mostly free reign over a studio album by any artist for the first time (more so than GA’s debut “SOTU” album, from six years later): “Girl” 25th Anniversary Sale Link FULL TRACK-LIST:
  17. Rest in peace beautiful Sinead, your lifetime of torment is now over 💋
