To be honest I think Timbo's iconic sound during Furtado's Loose and Timberlake's Futuresex eras was one of the sound that Sweet 7 was trying to emulate but it didn't work for the Babes. I still wouldn't mind them trying out working with him. Especially with MKS being full on in the creative process. Plus Timbo's is more versatile than people think and I think if they match in the studio it could be pretty great. Something like Beyoncé's Rocket would fit them like a glove with their crazy harmonies that could match Bey's. And coming back to the Pharell discussion, those 3 artists (Beyonce, Nelly and Justin) are artists with whom he did great stuff, so who knows what he could do with the babes if he's harsed to. Plus, let's be honest, Happy is iconic (yeah i know people are bored of this song, but it is a BOP and I personnally enjoy it). Oh, unexpected though : I would love to see the babes work with Daft Punk or SebAstian. Now that could provide some surprising results. And being french I would love the Babes to get closer to France as there is basically no relationship between them and my country.

I seriously hope it didn't happen. The girls need to release fresh music and people need to stop leaking them for that to happen.
-
The girls have given multiple interviews recently and what I can remember about the album : The album is not done. They have exciting writing sessions to come. They are still waiting for the Pharrell session to happen as he is pretty busy (not sure it will happen) When The Rain Comes was released because they wanted to give the fans a gift but they also released it so it wouldn't leak. They are traumatised and I understand why. They don't even have the songs they recorded to avoid leaks. This mean they will probably continue releasing stuff before the album is completed to avoid leaks. This and the fact the song hasn't been given a video treatment shows that they don't treat it as a lead single. I wouldn't be surprised if they choose to not include it if it doesn't fit the rest of the material. They have a direction in mind for the album but that might change in the process of recording.

Great ! I think she did say it took her 7 years to get to finish this books so we'll probably get a reunion in 2037. Poor Geri, I think a lot of her fans want it to flop. I don't wish anything bad for her especially with all the energy she has pu into it writing it. Bar an enventual SG reunion I don't think she'll perform so let's let her do what she wants as long as we get a SG farewell tour done the right way this time. By the right way I mean touring the whole world and not cancelling the whole thing in the middle of it.

Sorry I don't. Nice to see her doing something for it. I wonder of she'll take some time to promote or even perform the songs.
-
I believe Geri don't want her book's promotion to be overshadowed by announcement of a full lineup reunion, so I do get why she's awkward about her responses about it. Once she's done with that I have high hope she will be on board. The other girls have pretty much spilled the beans so that's probably already a done deal waiting the right time to be officially announced.

It is to me too. On other news, interesting Mutya Interview here : It's nice to see her so grounded now. So funny that she was a professional dancer before being a Sugababes. 😄
-
The whole set makes me believe in Heaven but I have to agree, Flatline is a highlight in both their whole discography and this performance. They did it justice with their vocals and the little arrangements makes it more current. It's so cool to see them perform it in front of a giant Sugababes logo. If it was released for the first time today with their legacy reignited and the right promotion I wonder if it would have done well. Definitly better than in the MKS era.
-
Yeah, the chorus definitly takes life in a live setting. The harmonies should take center stage in the studio version like it does here, rather than being EQed out in favour of the synthetic horns (or should I call them horny synth ?😅😂). The song doesn't scream come back single or new Sugababes era but I discovered it to be very catchy and heart warming once I got over my early disapointment.

The girls are performing (and probably being interviewed) in Graham Norton tonight : https://www.instagram.com/p/CyVkEaOIIrq/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=90c7340f-40d1-4c65-8f0d-30d9a8b1df37&img_index=1 It will be their first screened performance of the song.

I understand what you both mean. Anyway, if anything, the girls shine a light on that song so that's all to SFA's benefit. I was kidding about the con thing. If anything the girls wants to bring SFA their Flowers, not steal their work. I take it as a homage especially as they kept the song intact in term of production.
-
I discovered the song with them and I think their live rendition is electric and works very well in the whole garage segment with overload. I for one like that they coned the general public into thinking Flowers is theirs. I wouldn't be surprised that some people wrongly believe that the original singers are just another lineup of the babes.🤣 The song was very lonely as a hit in the catalogue of Sweet female attitude. She got lots of friends in a Sugababes setlist now. 🫡
-
I agree. Maybe it's because her live vocals are from Spice girls shows. She doesn't have to carry the whole song vocally which is her problem here, plus she has the other girls with her which will definitely give her more confidence. I don't think Victoria would ever agree to come back on a scene without the girls. Maybe Geri feels the same way. And even for that she seems to have moved on, but we'll see. We never know with these girls. I would be happy to see them one last time perform as a 5 piece. Would be great to be there in person AND to have professional recording so I have no regrets.

I think the set was perfect for that set up. If you look at Boiler Room's general line up, they have 99% of djs. It's basically a cool club. You're supposed to dance, jump and sweat there (hence the boiler room name, people literally get boiled there). It's supposed to be edgy and uptempo set, that's why they didn't include any ballad nor the pure pop that is About you now. I knew that before I watched so I wasn't disappointed. I do agree with you though : we need a professional recording of them singing Stronger. That is definitely the one I miss the most. I have seen one fan recording that was pretty good but missing the first few seconds. It's better than nothing. I will post it when I get on my computer.

I don't think so but I don't own a copy myself to confirm it. ----- This is legendary. Their vocals. The crowd and the ambiance. Some songs are probably the closest we'll get to a studio version of MKS killing old Subababes songs. Siobhan seems so confident, it feels like she (or any of them for that matter) ever left the band. It's soooo nice to see. Now I hope we'll get the O2 show (apparently it was filmed) so we'll have 3 very different setting for the same tour (Isle of wight as a festival, Boiler Room as a crazy intimate set, and the O2 as an Arena show).

Thanks for sharing. Is it officially published ? Is it credited to Halliwell or Horner ? It's nice that's she's giving music a go. Especially since she's been teasing music for the last decades without releasing much. I don't think I'm gonna revisit Ghost often but at least it does sound like her. It could be a Britney Black Out era reject too 😜 (I'm saying reject so please don't jump at me 😄) On the other hand Beautiful Life is way too cheesy for my liking. The song does showcase the weaknesses of her vocals more than anything. She's better with uptempo songs or in the case of ballads those where she uses more of her soft voice. Calling is a nice exemple. Autotune should definitly stay away from her and any Spice Girl. It is horrible with Mel B's voice too, I hate that it's used anywhere now.🫠

The picture screams Get Sexy Part 2. Of course i'm jocking but the pink lighting reminded me of it. 😋
-
Yeah. it's grown on me a lot. it's not groundbreaking (I know my expectations were too high after songs like Flatline, Overload,...) but it's really easy on the ear. I like the summery vibe of it. 😊 I hope we'll get some edgy songs, some bops and hearbreaking moments as well in this new era. Yes they did call it an ERA getting started with this song !!! 😍 What more can we ask ?
-
I'm pretty sure the pitcure is from a coming video. It looks too sophisticated for just a single cover's photoshooot but I might be wrong. I hope it's a buzz song rather than a lead single but we'll see what they say at the O2.
-
The reaction from people who heard it in full is positive so I'm going to wait for that hoping there's some sort of climax that gives the song meaning. 🙂

I wanna know too 🥸 By the way, new single coming at midnight called When the Rain Comes 1:30 snippet already available : https://music.apple.com/nz/album/when-the-rain-comes-single/1706358432 By the look of it they are gonna perform it tomorrow at the O2 : https://www.instagram.com/p/CxK3fD0oGqn/ On first listen I'm not feeling it that much. Sounds like some R&B I could imagine anyone do but I'm waiting for the full thing to make a judgement. I'm sure they'll rock it live though. Apparently, the babes own the master and BMG is backing them. EDIT : Sorry, we posted at the same time. The instagram post says MIDNIGHT so it is definitly gonna be there at that time. Apparently it is already available in New Zealand.

So sad ! I really believed that VB being back on board would be a good sign for at least a tour coming. 🥲
-
Let's continue the Sugababes conversation in their topic.😉 About the Spice Girls, let's hope we'll get something good from all five of them soon without the use of any AI
-
Even if I won't be there, I can't wait to see what they have cooked for the fans. It can't be the exact same setlist and same stage design. And I can't wait to know if the big announcement is worth the hype or not. An european or world arena tour would be a decent alternative to the new music everyone is wishing for. If the O2 show is brand new, there's no reason they wouldn't use it again. ----- There was a conversation about people messing with the line up in the Spice Girls topic after Main Pop Girl posted about someone integrating member who were not there in a song with AI. I introduced the idea that people are soon going to mess up with Sugababes recording having line ups interpreting song they have done (for exemple 1.0 singing Freedom or 4.0 singing Flatline 😅). Let's continue the conversation here. For the second one, there's no need of AI to fake voices. Someone has been doing live edit of songs with all 6 members like for exemple this one : Now that we have the Isle of Wight performance in pretty good quality, it's only a matter of time before this person does the same with most of the 2.0 songs that were performed there. Personally I would take a 1.0 version anytime over one with all members but that's still fun fan fiction to watch. It will probably not happen in real life anytime soon and I'm glad it won't.
