Everybody's feelings of frustration are valid and justified, and I have notably partaken in this discourse before, and I even wholly gave up on her after a bit. So I can't imagine how it must be to be an OG fan and still be struggling. But, I believe her this time. She has shut up publicly about the album coming outside the legal stuff. She's even telling us to ask Epic because they need to clear her masters for release. She confirmed the SLAY music video is done; it's finished. The album must be completed, too, since that's what she mentioned, the masters. She submitted the whole thing, not groups of songs. She has financed so much into this project, ATP; hearing her progress, it'd be a horrible decision for her to drop everything and create a new rollout. It would have been a good decision for her to start with the darker album, I can't deny that, but I think she is doing what she can with the decisions she DID make. We should try our best to support her during this time in relation to the Epic shit, as I'm sure it's not easy. She could have said, well, legal issues, I guess I'm just gonna give up now. Things may NOT be coming as soon as we hope for, but there's no denying there's a possibility they will still come. Maybe spring/summer 2023? If she plays the roll-out smart, it could definitely work for her. Hopefully, SLAY by the end of the year, Rewind Your Heart could work as a single, saw some people mentioning Electric Heaven as well. If nothing ever comes of this, well, maybe I'm a fool, but truly, I believe she is trying.

Don't think so, especially not with what she said in the podcast now. Could be an album cover, like somebody else said, or it could be a remix.

Epic is not clearing the masters. They need to clear them for release. She openly said this and also it relates to what she said about it being "difficult because none of the old people still work at the label." (Might be misquoting a little.) Essentially, none of the people she was friends with, or who were in her corner work there anymore, so she is not a priority at ALL.

Leaked alongside the SLAY final from 2014. Rewind Your Heart and Hot City also have finals. Weirdly enough, the wikia that housed the whiteboard image also said she performed Hit Man live, so maybe there's a reworked version. Amazing work with the thread btw

That's actually a really good idea. Good for marketing and attention-grabbing. People will think there's an album behind it. Even when she's promoting it on TikTok, if she states the album is called "American Girl" ppl will be inclined to check it out. (Since like half of her comments are about how she has her own hit, 'American Girl.')

here's what she confirmed on tiktok: s.l.a.y., forever 21, hot city, iwfcy, electric heaven (re-worked. i imagine because the person who she based her tracklist on didn't like it and told her not to include it.), rewind your heart - everything but you was a part of the vault video. the vhs titled 'somebody' may be somebody's gonna get hurt, but she also has a video for her song just titled 'somebody,' so. neither was confirmed directly, but they're likely. - wild card was played in her short film. it's likely, but i'm not sure how likely because modern girl was played in insatiable and she said it was a one-off. i guess the situation is different, but they're similar, and it's the same sentiment. maybe she will release it as a single or something if it's not included. - show me your love is likely. it's stayed across all drafts (whiteboard, 2020 draft). most importantly, it has not leaked so it is the only thing from that era keeping her afloat aside from potentially unleaked material. - outlaw or worst in me probably, i've heard they're practically the same song but i've only heard outlaw. maybe both, you can't really predict but both were on the 2020 draft so.

I want to believe it's legal issues too, but she has a pattern of lying, and I think it's fair to assume after all these years that maybe she just was full of it, or in nicer words, bit off more than she could chew. It's starting to remind me of my dad atp, you don't wanna assume they are lying, but sometimes, they just are.

Sometimes people want to leak, but they cannot. If you get a file under certain terms, it is best not to break those for fear of losing that source or garnering a bad reputation. It's always amazing to get to share files, and a lot of people want to, but it's not always just as simple as I got this file, so now I'm going to leak it. Depends on the situation though ig, but I've been in this situation before and thought this would help.

Too many EDM/Tropical House drops on the album. They already saturated the sound, and the other ones just fit more. They completely scrapped the r&b route of the original 7/27. If we make a 7/27 with songs like Voicemail being on the standard I can see it being on there for sure.

When I got the song, I got told versions with JLO exist, and other people have confirmed the collab. It'll leak soon enough. She did a cut a solo demo as well iirc. I'm pretty sure that wasn't why it didn't make the cut, though.

The reason I will never use genius. It's lowkey my fault but certain songs leaked today and I was gonna make the pages, and procrastinated it, and now he has control over it. Can Genius just ban him, and why do people have the ability to control what happens on a page just because they created it? Like?
