She just needs to release "S.L.A.Y.", use it as an opportunity to drop an EP with some of the Epic tracks to tie up loose ends, and then pick up where she left off with the 2nd album that she was readying before the pandemic hit. She's said a number of times that there's a music video for "S.L.A.Y." coming. I get that she doesn't want it to fall on deaf ears, but the longer she waits, the less likely anything is gonna happen. We keep hearing about a "vibe shift" in pop culture, and I think after the low-key last couple of years the world is ready to dance again. "S.L.A.Y." is the perfect upbeat anthemic pop banger. I mean, c'mon... "We'll forget our yesterday's, light 'em up and blow 'em away." 💥 I doubt we'll be getting a full Epic album as she's already given away "Waking Up Diagonal" and "Hit Me Up", and I can't see a nearly 40 year old woman releasing a song called "I Wanna Fucking Call You". I think these tracks would make a really solid EP: Forever 21 S.L.A.Y. Everything But You Hot City Rewind Your Heart But of course none of this will ever happen. 😂

Anything from "Trouble" tbh. 😬
-
What?! You'd prefer Bonnie be taking advantage of her partner(s) to further her career, as opposed to... being happy and in love and enjoy her life? 🤔 Lol, y'all are wild.

Agreed! I'm so curious to see if the video for S.L.A.Y. was filmed recently, or if it's something she had lined up back in the day and is pulling from the vaults, like she did with "Stars In Your Heart". At least we know that when Bonnie delivers, she delivers. All of the videos for the Bombastic EP were fantastic.
-
Of course we are!! It's just been a lot of empty promises up to this point. At least this time it seems to be looking more likely that something may actually be coming.

She's said a few times (and I know we need to take everything she says with a grain of salt) that S.L.A.Y. is coming, along with a music video. I really do feel like she's trying to build some clout on social media (mainly TikTok) before releasing anything else. She's held on to these songs for so long, and it makes zero sense for her to put them out there unless they'll be heard by people other than her core fanbase. Since a few of the Epic songs have found a new life elsewhere ("Waking Up Diagonal" & "Hit Me Up") we know those are out. And I would think that there are a few songs she doesn't relate to anymore ("I Wanna Fucking Call You" comes to mind with it's rather juvenile lyrics and theme). I wouldn't be surprised if we get a 5 track EP with some of her favourites, to create some buzz for a new full length album (she did say she had one finished in 2019). I think "S.L.A.Y.", "Forever 21" and "Hot City" are sure fire bets, as she's said many times those are amongst her favourites / most important to her. But it is Bonnie after all, so who knows!

Yeah, the "Trouble" album came out when she was 20, and "American Girl" came out when she was 29. I feel like she probably started working on the Epic album when she was around 27 or 28 after all the songs she wrote for Katy blew up. The Epic sessions definitely have that same sound.

I completely agree! It's somewhat reassuring that she's had a number of the leaks pulled down from YouTube (S.LA.Y., Everything But You) so here's hoping that she actually comes through and releases something this time. I'd be thrilled with another 4 or 5 track EP with the final, polished tracks. Something like... S.L.A.Y. Forever 21 Hot City Everything But You Rewind Your Heart

Well... it was fun while it lasted y'all. 😭 Never thought I'd see so many people so excited about Bonnie again. Here's hoping we get Forever 21 (and Right Now / Hit Me Up) someday.
-
Can someone just tag me when something new leaks? 'Cuz... this is a mess. 🥴

I just need Forever 21 (okay... and Right Now) and I'm good tbh. Do we know if those songs are circulating? Still haven't seen anyone confirm if that's the case.
-
Yaaaaas! Thank you and so glad you like it! I'm working on a full booklet with a bunch of other photos from that era. There are so many great ones that really fit the "American Girl" concept. Will definitely share it here when I'm done.

Completely agree with all of this. 👏 I think "Don't Get Mad, Get Famous" would have been an iconic album title, though a little self-indulgent given that... well... we all know how things panned out. During the Karmin tour (towards the demise of her deal with Epic) she said that she had the album ready to go. She also said that "Don't Get Mad" was never finished (as evident by the leak) so I think she may have scrapped that idea. I guess we'll never know!

Thanks! I've been tinkering with the tracklist a lot and I really like the energy and flow of this one. I think this list (minus "Waking Up Diagonal" and "Hit Me Up") would have been close to what the final tracklist would have been in 2014. I remember Bonnie saying it would likely be 12 songs.
-
I'm pretty sure "Dirty Laundry" was one of them.
-
I figured I may as well throw my album cover concept into the ring (while we wait for the last few tracks to leak 🤞😜). It's still a rough work in progress but you get the idea. I prefer the title "American Girl" over "Electric Heaven" personally. I feel like it encapsulates the feeling of the record more, and it's just so Bonnie.
-
Sooooo who wants to HIT ME UP with FOREVER 21, like, RIGHT NOW? 🤔😬
-
I completely agree! Bonnie's Epic album and CRJ's "Emotion" both capture the melodic and anthemic '80s pop throwback vibe perfectly. I hope one day we get to hear Carly's version of "When I'm Alone", and fingers crossed they work together again in the future.

I adore Bonnie, and have been a diehard fan of hers forever, but I think one of the biggest things holding her back is constantly comparing herself to her peers. She had a record deal, then lost it. She had a second shot, then lost it again (unfairly might I add). She had something to prove with the Bombastic EP, and it was actually wildly successful and incredibly polished for an independent release. But I think she really struggles with being independent. In her mind everything needs to be executed like a major label artist, because that's all she knows. And, unfortunately, she seems to second guess herself a lot. It would be easy to assume she's frustrated and has a fear of failing giving the experiences she's had as a performer in the music industry. Ultimately, I think that's why we haven't gotten these songs as part of an official release. She put her heart and soul into them and doesn't want to just chuck them out to little fanfare. It seems she's really been putting a lot of effort into TikTok as of late, so hopefully that will help her build some momentum. It's just unfortunate that she seems to "come and go" on social media and hasn't released anything (apart from a few features here and there) in ages. If she put out consistent releases since Bombastic, I really feel like she could have built up a huge cult following like CRJ. Let's get real, it's not because of lack of material. Bonnie is sitting on a goldmine of bops. I wish she would just let go of the idea of trying to be the next Katy Perry and believe in herself and her craft and consistently put out music independently.

Does anyone know the correct lyrics to Forever 21’s chorus? There’s one line I’ve never been able to make out and it’s driving me crazy. ‘Cuz I’ll take whatever keeps me numb Baby I’ll stay Forever 21 ??? And I feel alright They can say whatever baby I’ll keep living like I’m Forever 21

I never heard this! Do you know what the full draft track list was?

Leak the Melissa Molinaro album then. 👀😜
