The SLAY music video just hit 100k views on YouTube! Pretty impressive for an indie artist who's been out of the spotlight for so many years! I hope she's pleased with the response so far.
-
She cut out the "S...L...A...Y" chant after the first chorus. Which is kind of odd as that's one of the most memorable / tiktok-worthy parts of the song.
-
SLAY is officially OUT NOW in some parts of the world! We did it kids. 😭🙏
-
So it's actually coming out on June 28th, not the 21st. https://www.instagram.com/p/CtaEwCstLmC/
-
Fingers crossed we get a new post today! 🤞 T-minus 9 days 'til SLAY.
-
Yeah, what we're not gonna do is tell Bonnie – a 39 year old woman – how she should dress. Anyway, just 11 DAYS to go now folks. It's amazing how far we've come. Cheers to 500 pages, it's been such a fun and wild ride! Who would have thought even just a year ago that "SLAY" would finally be (officially) released into the world. If it weren't for us (she's mentioned the "forums" multiple times) it may have never happened.
-
Fingers crossed Bonnie keeps dropping new content every day leading up to the release with a reminder to pre-save. 🤞 That DIY photoshoot video was super cute. I would love to see some Reels / TikTok's of her documenting the re-recording process.
-
IIRC she recorded "Sleepwalker" with Oligee before signing the Epic deal. Not sure about "Stars in Your Heart" though.
-
Yeah, given that the past single titles on the VHS tapes are pretty much in order of release (apart from Stars in Your Heart and California Winter being swapped – although the Stars video was recorded first) I’m pretty sure this is a clue as to what singles to expect from the forthcoming album. If we get videos for Forever 21, Hot City, IWFCY, Rewind Your Heart, Everything But You and Electric Heaven my wig will permanently leave this planet.

OH MY GOD WE WON

Does anyone know if Bonnie has any other videos from the Epic album in the vault? It would be so cool to see them after all of this time. It was such a treat when she released "Stars in Your Heart" years later. We know there's at least one that she mentioned in the "Breaking Bonnie" series... I remember seeing a rumour that it was for "Worst in Me" but no idea if that's true or not.
-
Actually it's called being realistic, but OK werk I guess!
-
Who is "they"? Lol. It would be really stupid to set any expectations on "SLAY's" performance, and use that as a basis for whether or not the album gets released. Why would Bonnie go to all of this trouble of polishing up and securing the rights to these songs, only to let them sit and collect dust on a shelf once again? It's NowOrNever.mp3. Bonnie has been behind-the-scenes and out of the public eye for so long. There should be NO expectations. She needs to start from the beginning and build up some momentum and a new fan base. Good news is, she's in a FAR better position than most artists, as she does have a dedicated fanbase already, and a lot of casual pop music fans are at least familiar with her name/résumé/American Girl. It's so frustrating because her reason for going independent was to release music more frequently and avoid the red tape of a record label, but the reason she hasn't released anything is because she's set on an old-school album campaign roll-out and that's just not realistic in 2023. How many "first singles" has Kim Petras had? Lol. Bonnie is sitting on a gold mine of pop bangers, has some coins in the bank to shoot some cute visuals, and plenty of friends/connections in the industry who could easily help re-share her content and get the word out. She just needs to take the leap and start freaking putting the music out there. I finally feel confident that "SLAY" is coming, but I will be SO disappointed if she gives up again if/when it doesn't meet her expectations. Anyway, we will be streaming.

Well, June is a week away and as usual Bonnie's gone silent on social media... I really do appreciate how hard she's been working behind the scenes to get this album together, but I wish she would just give us a DATE. The number of "coming soon's!!!" we Bon Bon's have had to endure the last few years has been criminal-demo.mp3. Seeing as "American Girl" was released on June 25th, I wouldn't be surprised if she's planning to release "S.L.A.Y." around that time. Maybe the 23rd since it's a Friday? Anyway, hopefully she starts teasing at the start of June. There's a lot she could do with that vault she built...

Bonnie has said countless times that it was Katy's decision to work with other people on "Witness." Why would Bonnie willingly choose to walk away from a gig that made her millions? lol. Anyway, yeah, fingers crossed something happens for the 10 year anniversary of American Girl. I still think the vault concept she was teasing last year was super cool, and obviously would make a lot of sense to celebrate the anniversary. Hopefully she's been quietly working on ironing out the legal issues with Epic and is prepping for a summer release...
-
Me every time Bonnie posts a new Instagram story and I click foolishly thinking she'll give us something... ANYTHING... but of course it turns out to be yet another re-post of her boyfriend's lame-ass band. It's absolutely crazy that the 10 YEAR (!!!) anniversary of "American Girl" is coming up in 2 months and we STILL haven't gotten an album.

Me and the girlies busting out the "SLAY" choreo (and a hip) at the seniors centre when it's finally officially released in 2070.
-
"Tanlines" is one of my favs from the more recent leaks for sure.
-
Nevermind lol. On her IG story she said she said she was "grateful to have played a small part" in the Bebe song. 😂🤔

Was anyone at Bonnie's show in LA last night? Curious to know if she mentioned anything about new music or performed any new tracks. Also, does anyone know the back story behind "Heart Wants What It Wants"? It's a mega bop but it does sound a bit dated. I wonder if it was meant for Bonnie's unreleased 2019 album. The melodies in that pre-chorus are so Bonnie.

On the topic of tracklistings... I was hoping to get y'alls opinion. I've been holding out hope that a) this album would finally get released and we'd get an official tracklisting, or b) "Right Now" would leak, but since neither of those things are ever going to happen (let's be real) I decided to finally bite the bullet and make my own custom "American Girl" lathe cut vinyl through InTheClouds to celebrate what this album could have been. Originally I was going to do a single LP with the quintessential tracks, but I really struggled to narrow the album down to 36 minutes (18 mins per side). So I've decided to do an all-encompassing 2xLP to capture the full era. The tracklist is a little more bloated than I'd like, but I figure if I have the room I may as well include as many songs as I can. Thoughts on the tracklist below? Keep in mind, there's a maximum of 18 minutes of music per side, so I've arranged the tracks to flow as best as possible, while also being able to fit as many as possible. Side A (17:29) Don’t Get Mad, Get Famous (Intro) (2:09) S.L.A.Y. (3:58) American Girl (3:43) Forever 21 (3:44) Hot City (3:55) Side B (17:54) Rewind Your Heart (4:06) Unlock Your Love (2:50) I Wanna Fucking Call You (3:36) Hit Me Up (3:36) Electric Heaven (3:28) Side C (17:56) Everything But You (3:42) Waking Up Diagonal (4:00) Last Call Lover (3:40) Wild Card (2:50) Worst in Me (3:44) Side D (17:52) Jenny’s Got a Boyfriend (3:22) Sleepwalker (4:02) Outlaw (3:43) Up to Me (3:03) *tbh I kinda hate this song, but it's the only other one from the era that would fit. Somebody’s Gonna Get Hurt (3:42) Once I get everything finalized I'd be happy to share the high-res artwork files in case anyone would like to get a copy made for themselves.

I saw this posted in the Latest Leaks thread but not here, so... A bop.

I know I've said this many times, but I think Bonnie's problem is that she's stuck in 2013 and will forever compare herself to her peers at that time and the success of the songs that she wrote with/for them. She still thinks that she needs a monster lead single (she keeps bringing up going viral on TikTok) and a big album campaign with lots of momentum around it to release new music. This couldn't be further from the truth in 2023. Now, the only way to build momentum is by releasing music consistently. We know Bonnie is sitting on 1000's of unreleased songs. There's no reason why she couldn't be dropping a song a month on Spotify to build a fanbase back up. She has 175K monthly listeners on there. Odds are, any of her new releases will show up in many of their Release Radar's, and she's had lots of luck with getting her independent releases places on Editorial Playlists in the past. Epic kept pushing back the release of "SLAY" in 2014, and Bonnie said she decided to go independent so she could release music more frequently. Cut to almost a DECADE later and we've had the (incredible) 4-track Bombastic EP, a Christmas song, two stand-alone singles and a couple features. She needs to let go of this idea of the stars needing to align perfectly before releasing anything. I know she's been done dirty by the industry, but she's a brilliant mind and talent and I wish she'd share her art more frequently and stop second guessing herself so she can get the respect and admiration she deserves. Whether or not the full unreleased Epic project ever materializes, I hope she can at least release "SLAY" and it's music video (which we know has been done for a while now) to close that chapter and finally move on. The vault concept was so cool, and it'd be such a shame for "SLAY" to get shelved yet again.

So is it safe to assume that Bonnie's given up on the Epic album release entirely? When the leaks started to trickle out she was very quick to have them removed from YouTube (especially "SLAY" in particular), but I just noticed the entire album has been up since August?! Knowing her personality and how inconsistent she can be when it comes to following through with releasing things, I wouldn't be surprised if she feels like the moment has passed. It's incredibly frustrating as this is genuinely one of the best pop albums of all time and it deserves a proper polished release. I hope I'm wrong and hope she's still working on things behind the scenes, but she's been super quiet as of late. I still, for the life of me, can't understand why she hasn't released SOMETHING in the past few years (not counting random Christmas and Halloween features 👻). It's been almost 4 YEARS since her last proper single release. She still has a strong monthly listener base on Spotify. She should be drip-feeding tracks from that 2019 album while she sorts the Epic stuff out. Remember when she said she was going independent so she could release music more frequently?! Anyway, end rant. The life of a Bon Bon is truly a cursed existence.
