Found some great videos from the Vegas show: Also, Bonnie announced a second pressing of the Hot City vinyl, available through her webstore. Now that the tour with Kiesza is over, hopefully we'll get an update on Hot City deluxe soon! She did tease that a Halloween surprise was coming as well.

Vinyl is already sold out! Hopefully everyone here who wanted one was able to get one!
-
Vinyl (pre-order, I'm assuming) coming tomorrow at 8am PT / 11am ET!

I'd love to see "Everything But You" get the single treatment. It makes me irrationally upset that it's the least streamed song on the album (on Spotify anyway). I'm sure it's a result of it being towards the end of the tracklist. It deserves it's moment in the sun! Otherwise I think "Rewind Your Heart" would be a perfect final single in the fall. I don't know why, but that song has always given me a breezy autumn vibe.

I can't believe the album is finally here. 😭 What a moment. It's hard to put into words how it feels to finally have these songs officially released and available to stream/buy legally – and Bonnie finally getting the coins she deserves! From watching all of the live performances of these songs on loop back in 2013/14, being distraught finding out that the album was shelved, stumbling upon this forum years later and finding other people so tied to these songs, the wild ride of having many of the demos finally leak and refreshing this forum like a madman, Bonnie finally changing her tune about the songs sounding "dated" and embracing them again, her announcing that she'd be re-recording / releasing this project, SLAY finally being released officially (what a moment 😭), the endless delays, microbop gate, the insanely polished visuals and concepts, that album cover (!!!) and now – after all of this time – an official release. The journey to Hot City was truly been WILD, and there is a huge sense of relief / closure finally having finished versions of these songs, as Bonnie meant for us to hear them. What a time to be alive! I can't wait to play the hell out of this album. A few of my thoughts on first listen... - "Don't Get Mad" is lightyears better as a full song with a second verse / bridge. (I just wish it were Bonnie singing the second verse and not whoever Sophie Powers is...) - "Show You Mine" is a BANGER. The lyrics and vibe take me right back to 2013, and it fits in so perfectly with the songs we already knew. - I find the track sequencing of the album kind of odd. Maybe I'm just used to hearing the songs in a certain order, but I can't believe she didn't take advantage of the obvious Forever 21 > Hot City transition. I also feel like a lot of the "heavy hitter" tracks are in the middle of the album when they should be up front imo. - "Snatched" is... something. I get what she was going for in creating a drag / gay anthem, but it sticks out like a sore thumb. It should have been a stand alone single. - "Electric Heaven" is a religious experience. - "Just a Kiss" is stunning. And I think "Stars in Your Heart" is the perfect album closer. I'm happy that it and "Sleepwalker" found a home here, because I've always considered them to be a part of this project. - WTF did she do to "I Wanna Call You"? 😭 I'm not a fan of the new lyrics in "Everything But You" either, but as someone mentioned above... I wonder if she had to change them for legal reasons? I could be wrong, but I think I remember her saying in her TikTok comments that it would be "expensive" to include this song because of Max Martin's involvement. Anyway, overall this is a near-perfect album for me (I would have changed the track sequencing and cut "Snatched") and we are truly BLESSED on this day. 😇 Can't wait to buy the hell outta the merch / physical copies!

5 DAYS until our wigs go on vacation to Hot City! PS... now that we know it was scrapped, does anyone wanna leak "Soundtrack to the End" to keep us fed until Friday?
-
I'm sooo ready for the new version of "Electric Heaven" to bless our ears!

Fingers crossed for an album artwork / tracklist reveal today. 🤞 T-minus 3 weeks until release day! It's so weird that she hasn't officially announced it on social media / dropped a pre-save link yet. Right before DGMGF dropped she talked about how important pre-saves were for unlocking a budget. You'd think she'd want to allow herself as much time as possible to gather pre-saves...

The whiteboard list is: ✓ American Girl ✓ Forever 21 ✓ Somebody’s Gonna Get Hurt ✓ Waking Up Diagonal ✓ I Wanna Fucking Call You ✓ Outlaw ✓ Electric Heaven ✓ Everything But You ✓ Rewind Your Heart ✓ Jenny’s Got a Boyfriend ✓ Show Me Your Love Worst In Me Hit Man Wild Card Mirage Hot City I assume the songs with checkmarks next to them were the top contenders for the album. It's weird that "Hot City" was so far down the list back in the day, and now it's the title track! Maybe it was a very early / different version of the song as we now know it. She did say she originally pitched it to Cher for her "Closer to the Truth" album.

I know we're all anxiously awaiting the final tracklist, but is anyone else super excited for the album cover reveal? TBH I thought the "Hot City" single cover would have been a PERFECT album cover. It really captures the '80s vibe and the summery energy of so many of the tracks. It's also incredibly eye catching and I could really see it standing out on the shelf in a record shop. It's literally like staring at a sunset... so gorgeous you can't take your eyes off it. We all know how meticulous Bonnie is when it comes to visuals, so if the album cover is better than THIS I think we're all in for a real treat.
-
Y'alllllll! I may be jumping the gun here, but Bonnie has started tweeting lyrics from the album. Knowing that she just recently turned it in, I wonder if this is the start of a tracklist reveal? Don't Get Mad Get Famous SLAY I think I remember her saying somewhere that "Don't Get Mad" was intended to be the album opener, no? It'll be interesting to see what happens next...
-
Genuinely curious how it takes months to edit a 3 minute music video?
-
The irony of this comment, I– Last time I checked the point of a discussion forum was... to discuss things, no? Anyway, back to radio silence!
-
Happy 8 months since "SLAY" was released..........
-
I think (read: hope) we'll get "Forever 21" in March alongside the album pre-save (and hopefully physicals / merch pre-order), and then a final single to coincide with the album release in May.
-
Album is coming in May according to this new interview: https://www.billboard.com/video/bonnie-mckee-interview-billboards-no-1-grammys-party-2024/ We'll see.

Agreed. I think all of the false starts, long gaps between releases, tentative release dates, and Bonnie completely disappearing from social media for weeks at a time... has really killed the momentum. People don't have the attention span for a year-long rollout, especially when these songs are over a decade old. Also, it's kind of like she's dangling a carrot in front of us, and then keeps pulling it away, which is rather irritating. I know she doesn't owe us anything, but we've stuck by her side for all of these years... it would be nice to finally get rewarded with this album we all love so much. I'm going to try and remain optimistic that she's spent the last couple months finalizing everything, and hopefully we'll finally get a release date / pre-order with the next single.
-
Yeah, I've said this before but she seems to be obsessed with giving this album a proper roll-out like it would have had in 2014. The problem is... it's not 2014 anymore. A decade has gone by and the way people consume music has changed drastically. Most artists don't even bother with music videos nowadays. The most important thing is releasing music consistently. And it's incredibly frustrating because when Bonnie went indie she kept saying how she was so excited to release more music without a label holding her back... and then we got one 4-track EP and a couple one-off singles over the course of 10 years. Don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon with what Bonnie has delivered so far. The quality of everything has been top tier with big pop girl energy, but it's frustrating that it isn't making the noise we all hoped for. And I think the gaps / setbacks are to blame. Bonnie has put too much focus on trying to go viral on TikTok instead of releasing music consistently. IMO she should have tried to book a few big Pride festival gigs to coincide with the release of "SLAY" and then drip-feed one song every 2 - 4 weeks on streaming to help build a new audience and some hype leading up to the album release. We don't need a video for every song. I think visuals for "SLAY", "Hot City", "Forever 21" and maybe "I Wanna F**king Call You" would encapsulate the era perfectly. I know she really wants this to be a summer album, so hopefully she picks up some momentum again in the coming months and we finally get a tracklist / release date.
-
Are we ever getting a freaking release date for this album? It's been 7 MONTHS since SLAY.
-
It's hard to believe that no one has it considering it was one of the 7 songs she performed on tour around the country. A file must have existed somewhere alongside the insane amount of tracks that have already leaked. Hopefully we'll hear it (or at least a demo of it) someday. I wonder what her plans are moving forward. She said there will be two more singles before the album, and we know the next one is "Forever 21" (as she said on IG Live that she was filming a video for it before the holidays). I'm guessing next single in Feb. (hopefully with an album release date / pre-order 🤞) and the last single alongside the album in the Spring.
-
There is no definitive release date, unfortunately. Back in June she said it would be released "in the Fall", which has come and gone. Last week on IG Live she said the new release date is "tentatively April". She said she was going to be filming a music video for Forever 21 last Friday. She also said that Jenny's Got a Boyfriend will "probably" be a single with a music video. She still hasn't figured out the final track list. So, unsurprisingly, there's a lot up in the air.
-
Did anyone get any other tea from the IG Live last night? It seemed to go on for over an hour so I didn't stick around lol. One thing she did mention is that "Jenny" will probably be a single, with a music video.
