I know it's been months but I'm still absolutely floored at the amount of time, energy and MONEY she put into re-releasing, re-recording and shooting videos and undertaking amazing photo shoots for Hot City. The way the whole thing came to life is just INSANE and I am so so grateful. After what felt like 10 years of screeching for her to release an album, she came through in such a big big way. I'm so grateful. Artists talk a lot about "loving" their fans but Bonnie truly truly truly came through with what was truly a labour of love for her fans. PLUS also to herself - doing justice to what always was an incredible, poptastic project that had no right being shelved or kept from her fans who loved it. So a big pat on the back for Bonnie, and for the fans who supported her throughout her career.

LOVE the new "Forever 21" video - so fun and camp and UGH the way she reveals the hidden meanings behind the songs. Something so silly and fun takes this serious kinda turn, ugh she is so good at that. Also obsessed with "Stud Muffin" getting its rightful acclaim here. Yeah Quest Bars hired her to write a jingle for their new blueberry muffin flavoured protein bar and she wrote a legit SMASH hit instead and then filmed a flawless Grease-inspired video? So legendary. One of the back-up dancers is so hot too haha, I meticulously tracked him down and followed him on IG. The way she drops in the bar and the brand name in the lyrics is so good haha. "I've been on a quest, I only want the best" and the "You're like a quest bar cause you've got the key to give me energy" legendary queen shit.

I'm pretty sure the surprise is the American Girl EP. I'm listening to it now - the first remix goes hard. Love that the cover art is a literal visualization of my username. Queen KNOWS what's up!!!!

Currently obsessed with "Show You Mine" - it wasn't a song I was familiar with and I love it! The chorus is so catchy and just so "Bonnie McKee." I love it! The new "I Wanna Call You" is also such a bawp. I was thinking about how the concept of wanting to call someone is kinda dated now, tweens now would never literally call their crush. All silly little messages and snapchat pics etc. But that's also why I love that Bonnie has released it - it's truly of its time (2013-era) and she has remained loyal to doing justice to the originally planned album. Legend behaviour.

I will create a tiktok to support Bonnie if I have to - and god knows I don't want to create one but sacrifices must be made for pop excellence.

I'm listening now for the first time and currently onto "Forever 21" omg it's so good!!!!!!! Bonnie I am SCREAMING!!!!!!!!! YOU DID THIS BITCH!!!!!!!!! What a fucking legend to pay THIS MUCH JUSTICE and service to this legendary album that STUPID Epic records dared to question!!! It doesn't even matter if it would have or should have or could be a mega #1 smash, that's so not the god damn point. The point is - this is excellent pop music! These are amazing songs! They are timeless in the way that music and pop music will always be - the great pop songs "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" "Like a Virgin" "Dance with Somebody" don't age or ever become over because they have a soul. This whole album has a soul and has lived on for ten years now - which is god knows a lot more than some singles released by artists last month with a hiss and a roar, already forgotten. Congratulations Bonnie - you've worked so hard and I for one am incredibly grateful!

I don't really know how to properly put how I feel into words but there's almost like this huge triumphant feeling that our dreams and hopes from the past can still come true, and there's a fantastic feeling of closure. We all knew this album and its songs were pop perfection and it was criminal they were never released to the world. Thank you for the POP JUSTICE Miss McKee! Agreed! The absolute EXTREME attention to detail being paid to each and every song, video, image and promotional clip on instagram etc. Bonnie McKee hasn't been fucking around or been lazy. Literally in a state of shock this is all happening. Bonnie is making my pop dreams come true!! God I remember how HARD I was stanning "American Girl" back in the day and then OBSESSING over the Bombastic EP and been clinging to hope all this time. Bonnie McKee fans won!! Also this entire era so far has been so incredible. "Jenny's Got A Boyfriend" is sooo good. The reworked song is amazing and the video is literally one of the most flawless videos ever, it's just SHOCKINGLY good. The Bonnie McKee retro colourful maximalist pop aesthetic is SOLELY dominated by her.

LMAO you were so real for this. OK don't get me wrong I LOVE this song and am ABSOLUTELY thrilled and delighted that Bonnie has re-recorded, perfected and improved, and then filmed a SMASH video (which I haven't had a chance to watch yet - am at the office, refuse for my first watch to be hunched over a work laptop). It's beyond a dream. A former fave of mine, Jade Valerie from the band Sweetbox, disappeared 10 years ago and stepped away from her public facing career and that was that. I spent years devastated! I'm so lucky that Bonnie still has a drive and passion, and especially to give justice to a 11-year ago cancelled era. Now THAT is pop icon behaviour.

Her vocals her IMMACULATE and sound literally the same as the 2013 (or whenever it was) demo BUT.... I'm really not feeling the production. It doesn't build up as nicely as in the leaked version, or well, one of the leaked versions.

The "Jenny's Got a Boyfriend" cover art is insane!!!! Phew if Bonnie has cooked up another video for us in a similar vain I fear we're about to be absolutely demolished by a legendary song and aesthetic. 🤩

Yay we're back in business! I'm not gonna lie I get for her that she has put her heart and soul into ressurecting the 2013 album and I LOVE that she's been pumping out videos for the three singles she's put out so far, but I also don't hope she really thinks her maximalist pop is gonna smash in 2024. Obviously she'll be #1 of the Popsicle Orange personal spotify playlist but she shouldn't be discouraged, her fans love what she's doing.

That's so damn cool of her - she's so creative and impressive, I thought that teaser was absolutely AMAZING and I love that she did it all for her fans. Especially fans like us on this forum who have been chatting, speculating and obsessing over these tracks for a god damn decade. The vault is perfect!

In this video she posted on Twitter, Bonnie talked about how she found out about forums dedicated to her shelved album. I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure PopHatesFlops is the main spot on the entire internet for news on the shelved Epic album. Can't wait to get it!!!!!!!!!!
