Since my last post I've seen Petite Meller and Vanessa Carlton Also saw Jay Brannan and Nerina Pallot again. A band called M+A who were BRILLIANT. Highly recommend checking out their album "These Days". I was dragged along to an Amanda Palmer gig. I hated it. I was going to see Melanie C and Bright Light Bright Light but I was unwell for Melanie C and the trains were on strike for Bright Light Bright Light

People don't value the time and skill, I guess, they think you just press a button and take stuff from Google. People who work for free also don't help the wider community either, because it means the people they work for expect the next job to be free too! I think it's ok to do some things for free though - specifically for charities and non-profits - but you should never feel bad for negotiating fair payment, even in those instances if it's something you can't afford to give up.

Great thread! So many talented designers here when it comes to cover art especially.

I watched Season 3 for the Even and Isak storyline, loved it a lot. None of the other characters interest me apart from Sana, so I don't think I'll go back and watch Season 1 and Season 2 but if Sana is the lead for Season 4 I'll watch.

That "Aphrodite" book looks amazing! Is that how they store the CD, inside the pop-up flower? What an amazing concept! It would have been perfect for Christina Aguilera's "Lotus" to be honest.

I wonder if "All I Ever Do" was later recorded by flop UK girlband FRANK? Pretty sure their album was a Xenomania production. It's a great song (and a great album), that song sounds very Girls Aloud now that I think of it.

I loved it. There were a lot of overly photoshopped, and stylised covers that weren't to my taste but it was enjoyable looking through and see what people come up with, and how people interpret songs/albums.

I love Tomb Raider! The 90s versions are absolute classics. Such an iconic series. I like Legend, Anniversary and Underworld too. People shit on them a bit but it was time for the series to be rebooted with a fresh approach. I think the two most recent games are good, fun to play and brilliantly executed, but I'm not really a fan of the new Lara - she's lost a lot of the qualities that set the character apart from others and now seems like any old generic explorer from similar games.

Yeah it's annoying, but she has a career outside YouTube and it's not her main focus, so I get that. I just wish she'd be a bit more open about it when she knows she's going to be busy. She's improving though!

I don't have many favourites now, but I love Community Channel and HappySlip. It's a shame they don't post very often any more. I also enjoy Joseph Birdsong, but he posts gaming videos now, which are a great laugh but I preferred his scripted videos and vlogs. Soundlyawake is also really funny.

That sounds rough! Glad to hear you're feeling a little better though.

I have no idea what Manic Panic is, but Googling tells me it's a hair dye? I've never dyed my hair, but I can live with that.

I guess to a degree it does matter, you have to be physically attracted to someone, but whether other people find them attractive is beside the point.

Makes sense. But my question is this: How do you know he or she can't handle the full truth? Who gives us the authority to know better than someone else? (No shade, legit question.) Aren't there like 50 movies out there where after he or she discovers the full truth ends up being hurt more than if they were just told the full truth in the beginning? You ask a good question, but I'm not sure I have an answer lol. I guess it's a gut instinct.

Probably through Lanaboards, someone mentioned it in a thread.

I think little white lies are ok but I wouldn't make a habit of telling them because things have a way of snowballing! I use them if I want to save someone's feelings because knowing the full details of something would hurt them and my withholding the information or playing it down wouldn't affect them in any way. Can't think of any examples, but I hope you get what I mean.

Have you ever seen a video by Nick and Ken? They pretty much sound like the American versions of Vinny and Luke, I think you'd like them! I love Mamrie as well but I'm not a huge fan of her videos anymore...her puns just got so ridiculous and the content got too repetitive. I like her better when she's a bit more spontaneous tbh. Yeah I watch Nick and Ken too! I prefer Nick's videos on the Soundlyawake channel, he's very funny.

Albums that are never off my phone: Vanessa Carlton - Rabbits on the Run Britney Spears - Blackout Alanis Morissette - Flavors of Entanglement Lana Del Rey - Born to Die Madonna - Ray of Light, American Life and Confessions On A Dance Floor

I like Vinny and Luke on V-Squared, they are a gay couple based in the UK who make topical videos about life/relationships but also fun videos like tags, games and baking. Their videos are so much fun to watch because their personalities just shine through. Others I like are Billy and Pat, Joseph Birdsong, Mamrie Hart, Michael Buckley, Jim and Tanya.

American Horror Story Spin-Off: American Crime Story

It sounds like a cool idea, but I'd prefer it if it was fictional. I have a bad feeling about this being based upon prolific court cases... -
Fantastic start to the series. I was not expecting the reveal about Jessica Lange's character at the end, what a surprise!
-
I'd say he was mostly there because he is friends with the Beckhams. David Beckham was in the audience too but on the other side of the arena. The amount of screaming when he walked in was unbearable lol.

Spice Girls - Reunion tour. We met the chef Gordon Ramsey there. Britney Spears (with Ciara) - Circus tour. I hadn't paid much attention to Ciara before seeing her open for Britney. She really surprised me! Imogen Heap x 4 Jay Brannan x 2 Girls Aloud (with Amelia Lily) Alanis Morissette iamamiwhoami Nerina Pallot (with Minute Taker) - this show was a small one in a church, about 100 people in the audience, the opening act Minute Taker performed a song which sampled pornography and every time Nerina swore during her set she apologised to God. It was so funny and bizarre! Lana Del Rey Kate Bush - most recent and probably the best concert I've been to!
