Did Avril write the song? Idk, I know it's been years but I still feel like there's bad blood between Hilary and Avril... I can't imagine Hilary singing a song she'd written.

That and her turning down the "Lizzie McGuire goes to high school" spin-off are the only decisions Hilary's ever made that I disagree with.

How dare you say Ariana isn’t a POC? After all the fake tan, hair dye, makeup, surgeries, voice alterations and rapper boyfriends, doesn’t she finally deserve to be seen as black like she so badly wants? Honestly, I’m willing to take Lana’s statement that these are her favourite artists at face value. Even though she’s never really shown any love to any of the others, she’s consistently supported Ariana, even down to covering her in a prominent performance and obviously appearing on ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ as a favour to Ariana. Even if she’s self destructing I can’t imagine her ruining a personal friendship for no reason. I think what she said was just worded really poorly.

I wouldn't be surprised...I think she broke up with her boyfriend as well so things might be getting a little dark for her. I wish that instead of praying for her downfall, people could be praying for her wellbeing rn. It's crazy how high the suicide rate has gotten since COVID.

Lana has made quite the stir with her latest Instagram post! While the comments vary from supportive to upset, she has gained over a million new followers since making it which I guess means she's saying something right. In the post, Lana criticises the media for attacking her for "glorifying abusive relationships" while simultaneously upholding girls like Ariana, Beyoncé and Cardi for making songs about having sex and cheating. She also subtly dropped the news that her next album will be released on September 5th, and that she has two new poetry books on the way! While I fully agree with her point and disagree with anyone who's criticising her, I don't think it was necessary to bring up the other girls. She seems to be implying that "being sexy", "wearing no clothes" and "fucking" are on the same level as "abusive relationships", when Imo the former is very clearly acceptable and the latter isn't. What do you guys think?

Well it's understandable you have mixed feelings about it. It's your own work for one thing, and no one's first ever project is gonna be amazing! But for what it's worth I think you're off to a great start! I'm really impressed with your production. A lot of it sounds just as good as some of the JoJo or Lana demos that have leaked. I think your songwriting is good too! 'Days of Freedom' is probably my favourite song. The production is really well done and I think the chorus is that perfect mix of catchy and meaningful. I can definitely hear someone jumping on this and making it a hit! I say keep up the good work boo! I feel like you're gonna sound great as soon as you get control over your voice and we figure out how to master vocals together! Keep working at it and you'll go far!

Just wondering of any of you guys know about Carly Hennessy/Carly Smithson, aka lead singer of We Are The Fallen? It sounds like one of our favourite stories of a girl who has flop after flop but never gives up... She released her debut album Ultimate High in 2001 with a bunch of collabs from the great team of Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois and a budget of $2 million. The album failed to garner any momentum, possibly due to it's release a few months after 9/11. After it flopped, she was dropped by her record label. She then appeared on season seven of American Idol, where she made it to the top six before being eliminated. She started working on more solo material after Idol... But this was scrapped when she became part of Evanescence tribute band We Are The Fallen, being hand-picked by previous Evanescence mastermind Ben Moody. They were dropped from their label in 2011. Since then Carly has made a few more AI-related appearances but I haven't heard anything about her making more solo material. So what do we think of her girlies? I can imagine her having a lot of fans on here given how much early 2000s talk there's been lately! I'm really into 'I'm Gonna Blow Your Mind' atm so I'm interested to check out more of her early stuff.

I think so! Honestly I didn't even turn the sound on because I just didn't even wanna contribute to that messiness. But it was sad to see him that way. I hope he gets the help he needs.

You could be right! Although I seem to remember him pausing our conversation every ten minutes to find something new to play. It's crazy how dedicated their fanbase is. They were like the OG One Direction but x100 on the level of fan insanity.

I mean, that Anitta video has 133 million views, so I feel like it's kind of already happened? The VMAs and EMAs already seem to be recognising these artists so I think it's just a matter of time before they get even more mainstream!

I wish she'd included it on a special deluxe edition of her last album or something. It seems a shame to have all that interesting material go to waste, and it's not like she was paying that much money for those producers anyway...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! The film kind of worked without her because they made Kate a main character, but in the series I feel like Miranda was really missed in those last few episodes. As for Orlando, I literally saw a video of him a few days ago living on the streets and being harassed by some random guy... It's really sad what's happened to him. I hope he finds health and happiness.
