Ex Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger revealed recently that she turned down the opportunity to record ‘We Found Love’, the song by Rihanna and Calvin Harris which became a hit last year. ”I passed on ‘We Found Love’,” she admitted to Notion magazine. “I got the demo of that song and I was busy at the time. They’d sent me a few dance tracks and I wasn’t able to get to them and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s so much dance and I want to take a break from it’. That was my fault. I slept on it.” Scherzinger went on to confirm that she also turned down Gnarls Barkley’s hit ‘Crazy’, and that during her time as a Pussycat Doll they rejected the idea of singing ‘Just Dance’, made famous by Lady Gaga. It is also rumoured that Nicole turned down Jennifer Lopez’s ‘On The Floor’, although this has not been confirmed by Scherzinger herself. Interestingly, she is the second singer to regret rejecting ‘We Found Love’, after British songstress Leona Lewis confirmed recently that she too had missed out on releasing the track after releasing ‘Collide’ as the first single from her ill-fated Glassheart album. Would you like to hear Nicole’s versions of these songs? Would they even have been hits if she had sung them? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Just days after winning the BRIT award for International Breakthrough Act, Lana Del Rey has teased us with details about her upcoming album. "It's a little more stripped down but still cinematic and dark," said the raven-haired songstress, adding that  she has "moved on to a more spiritual place lyrically". Despite Lana currently living in the UK, she returned to Santa Monica, California to write the album. She furthermore added that she "worked with the same three guys" on the album, most likely referrring to Emile Haynie, Justin Parker and Rick Nowels. Del Rey went on to say that she had approached Woodkid, an artist who directed videos for both 'Born To Die' and 'Blue Jeans', for work on the upcoming album. "For some reason the videos are still the easiest things that come - As soon as I write the words to a song, I can paint exactly what I want the picture to look like. I have a song called Black Beauty and I've already talked to people about making [the video for] it." Lana previously showed us her more acoustic side on the barely released Lana Del Ray A.K.A Lizzy Grant album. Which kind of music do you prefer from her? Let us know below!

Lana Del Rey - Fordham Road (Jump Rope Queen)
Main Pop Girl replied to Main Pop Girl's topic in Art Gallery
Hahaha, go right ahead baby girl! I have a few versions but they're even closer up and they look so fake. -
i made both of these covers although i'm not entirely happy with either. this is the one i'm currently using. it's simple but effective! i also started on another version, but i accidentally saved the file while it was flattened so i can't go back and change anything i don't like! i don't mind this one but her hair's a bit messy and the two lens flares are a bit much. saint vox is another one of my new obsessions! they combine classical violin with pop music to create some really fun stuff. i'm really happy with this cover although, again, the pics were a bit lq for my liking! the logo is official. thoughts?

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I kind of like it but the colours are really bright! Also the image I used was really LQ, and I'm not happy with the Out of the Box text. It does the job though! Let me know what you think!

if you haven't checked this band out you have to now! basically they sample heaps of classical music in their songs and make it r&b/pop/dance, which sounds really cheesy but is actually cool. i made this cover for their album and i'm pretty happy with it! the butterflies are from the official cover and the eternity sign is covering up the old one i couldn't untag hope you enjoy!

So I originally started this as a cover for Fordham Road, my May Jailer unreleased album (with only one song ). I decided to manip the face and stick an older photo of May onto it but I ended up completely forgetting about that and just using a recent photo anyway. The background is the real Fordham Road. I'm pretty happy with this! Even though the manip is really dodgy looking it will do for my iTunes. What do you guys think?

Bonnie McKee and Skylar Grey Go Head to Head This Year
Main Pop Girl commented on Main Pop Girl's article in News
Completely agree! To me it seems like a lot more people know who Skylar his, probably from the Eminem and Diddy collabs. But on the other hand Bonnie is a lot more radio-friendly and I can see the public loving her music. It will be interesting to see who does better! -
Fergie has a new Pea roasting in the pod! The 37 year-old singer officially announced on Twitter Monday that she was pregnant, Tweeting to her fans: “Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!!”" This is the couple’s first child following their 2009 wedding. Both Fergie and Josh have expressed their desire for children in the past, but have said that they wanted the pregnancy to occur “naturally” and unplanned. “Not right this second,” the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman said in May 2011, with Duhamel adding, “We’ll go there at some point.” Congratulations to Fergie and Josh! What do you think of the news? Are you happy for Fergie and Josh, or would you prefer for them to focus more on their career? Let us know in the comments below!
Beyoncé's HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream premiered on Monday night to general acclaim from critics and fans worldwide. With an abundance of hype and 1.8 million viewers, the documentary has broken HBO's record for the most viewed program since 2004. Yet is the film actually worth all the hype? Find out below! Life Is But A Dream is Beyoncé's first feature-length documentary and the most we've seen of her since her pregnancy late last year. Primarily shot by King Bey herself, the film intersperses home footage with interview sequences and bountiful performance scenes. Despite it's billing as an intimate look into her life, the film rarely displays anything that we didn't know about Bey, instead choosing to flesh out major points of the last few years in more detail while still maintaining quite a bit of mystery as to Bey's day-to-day life. In an interview with GQ, Bey revealed - "I always battle with: How much do I reveal about myself? How do I keep my humility? How do I keep my spirit and the reality? And how do I continue to be generous to — to my fans and to my craft?" - a sentiment echoed again and again during the documentary. Even after an hour and a half and plenty of tearful moments, the audience feels no more connection to the singer than they did before watching it. If there's one thing that Life is able to reinforce to it's audience, it's Bey's talent - which, in this case, is both a positive and a negative. The film languors quite a bit over performance footage, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but most fans will have seen it all from previous DVD's such as Revel Presents: Beyoncé Live, 4 Intimate Nights with Beyoncé or Live at Roseland: Elements of 4. Furthermore, while the songs are often linked to whatever Bey is talking about during her interview sections, by the end of the film the performances shown are completely unrelated to the topic - as is the case with 'Resentment', a song from 2006 which is seemingly randomly slid into the show to fill up time. Another problem with the film is it's somewhat lack of focus. Most documentary films begin with a statement, informing the audience of what dates the film was shot between and what it will be following - but Life meanders along at it's own slow pace, failing to lead up to anything or create any sort of dramatic tension for the audience to enjoy. No particularly interesting revelations are made to give the plot a twist, and overall the film stretches on for far too long. Overall, Life Is But A Dream is overlong, disjointed and gratuitous in it's Instagrammed shots of Bey and her doe eyes. It provides only a little insight into the enigmatic performer, who has often been referred to as one of the best of her generation. And yet somehow, we still love it. It may be her beauty, her kindness, her ferocity or her obvious talent, but it's hard not to be compelled to the 31 year-old singer and her long, mournful, wide-eyed look at the camera. While we're quite sure that almost every scene in the film has been thought over again and again to promote a new aspect of the Beyoncé brand, if Bey puts as much heart, compassion and energy into the rest of her products, we'll keep buying them again and again.
