  1. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V4Xg7CT4kI Lindsay Lohan, aka Mother of All That is Good in This World, is preparing a new album! The troubled starlet revealed the news in an interview with TV Caras, above. She revealed that she is writing (yes, she writes her own songs!) at the present time and is looking forward to returning to New York City to keep working on the album next week. Other topics of conversation included: Lindsay's relationship with Liz Taylor; the differences between drama and comedy; and the state of her personal life. But who cares! A new album is coming! Lindsay was previously set to release an album way back in 2008, under the title Spirit in the Dark. While around seven tracks were recorded (all of which we have), and a single was released (the amazing 'Bossy'), the album was never completed and we, like LiLo's spirit, were left in the dark. We see this as a great opportunity with Lindsay. Basically anyone can sound good with a bit of Autotune and some good producers, and we really don't see how Lindsay can screw this up. It could be just the comeback that her career needs! What do you think of the news? Are you excited to hear Lindsay's musical comeback? Let us know over at the forums!
  2. Richard Griffiths (aka Vernon Dursley from the Harry Potter films; Uncle Monty in Withnail and I; Henry Crabbe in Pie in the Sky; and King George II in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) has passed away, age 65. The respected actor, who once won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor, passed away in England yesterday from complications due to heart surgery. His pale complexion and weight gain had been well noted by fans of the actor, who noticed him getting larger in each successive Harry Potter film. In addition to his film work, Griffiths also won a Tony Award for his role in The History Boys and starred alongside Harry Potter co=star Daniel Radcliffe in the controversial Equus back in 2007. "Richard was by my side during two of the most important moments of my career," said Radcliffe. Recalling his first shot as boy wizard Harry Potter in 2000, Radcliffe said: "I was nervous and he made me feel at ease." "Seven years later, we embarked on Equus together. It was my first time doing a play but, terrified as I was, his encouragement, tutelage and humour made it a joy." "In fact, any room he walked into was made twice as funny and twice as clever just by his presence. I am proud to say I knew him." Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans today as they struggle to come to terms with his loss. What was your favourite part of Griffiths'? Let us know over at the forum.

  4. Superstars Beyoncé and Kanye West have more in common that that embarrassing VMA’s incident – they’ve both released the album titles for their upcoming projects on the same day! According to Rolling Stone, Bey’s new album is called Mrs. Carter, an oblique reference to her marriage to Jay-Z (aka Mr. Shawn Carter). This idea fits in with the theme of the singer’s new tour, The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour,  as well as her recent H&M photoshoot, which “starred Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter”. The idea was also referenced on the singer’s latest single, Bow Down/I Been On, in which she raps: “I took some time to live my life, but don’t think I’m just his little wife.” While there’s still no word on when exactly the album will be released, we should expect it in the next few months. Meanwhile, Kanye’s album is also in production, and it’s rumoured to be called I Am God. While there has since been further speculation that ‘I Am God’ is in fact the name of West’s new single, and not the title of his new project, it seems pretty feasible to us that the title could be for both first single and album. An unidentified source claimed that the single was about “the idea that all people are manifestations of a higher power.” Interesting stuff! Whatever it’s called, Kanye’s new album is also set for release later this year (although that little incident with Kim Kardashian may have put a bump in the proceedings). In an awkward twist of events, Kanye not so subtly slammed his ex-best friend Beyoncé  in a rant during one of his concerts this week. Referencing Bey’s new endorsement deal with Pepsi, West ranted: “Can I sell a drink for you please? So you can help me put on a better show. Please corporations. Can you please support me, Kanye West? I swear I’m a nice nigger now. I swear I’ll put the pink polo back on. I swear to you. Please? Just for three million dollars. I need it so bad. I need a new pool in my back yard. So I’ll tell all my fans your shit is cool. And if they believe in me they should also believe in you… What’s my public rating now? Are people liking me again? Enough to get some money for some corporations? They forgot about the whole Beyoncé thing right? Okay, cool.” You can view the full video of West’s rant here. Interesting…We wonder what Jay-Z has to say about all this? Let us know what he’d say in our forums! [/html]

  8. A new leak from pop princess Ke$ha has appeared online! 'Dancing With the Devil' was a song originally written for the Warrior album, but was later taken off due to a dispute between Ke$ha, her mother Pebe and Dr. Luke. As we all know, Warrior took longer than expected to come out - and there is a reason for this. PopHatesFags can exclusively reveal that an entire album's worth of material was recorded before being scrapped by Dr. Luke. Ke$ha originally wrote an album's worth of songs with her mother Pebe Sebert. However, when Dr. Luke signed on as executive producer of the project, he scrapped the majority of Pebe's songs as he didn't like her writing. This lead to the formation of a new song, written by Ke$ha and Pebe - 'Dancing With the Devil'. "I keep on dancing with the devil", Ke$ha sings. "I sold my soul and there ain't no turning back. I keep on dancing with the devil". However, it becomes clear who the song's target is when Ke$ha croons: "He's got my mind, he's got my soul. Mama, he won't let me go!" The song was deliberately written as a "diss track" of sorts towards Dr. Luke. A few months after the album wrapped up, Pebe sent the song (along with a few other of her co-writes) to a select few "superfans" of her daughter, instructing them to spread them around as much as they can so that everyone can hear tidbits of the original incarnation of the Warrior album. This isn't the first time Dr. Luke has been seen in a less than complimentary light. Nicki Minaj scrapped the single release of 'Va Va Voom' after her disagreements with the producer, and relegated his tracks on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded to a bonus CD. Marina & The Diamonds was forced by her label to release his productions as singles after he charged a huge amount for working on them. What do you think of the song? Are you surprised to hear about disagreements between Ke$ha's family and her colleagues? Let us know below! Download: Ke$ha - 'Dancing With the Devil'

  10. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj_myXdOLV0 Lana Del Rey has released a new song - a cover of Leonard Cohen's ‘Chelsea Hotel No. 2'! The song was announced by Lana on Twitter today with the simple message  of “new video" on her Twitter account. The live recording harkens back to Lana's breakthrough 'Video Games', with restrained vocals and acoustic instrumentation. Cohen's version was originally released on his 1974 album New Skin for the Old Ceremony. The song details a sexual encounter in New York's Chelsea Hotel, which Cohen wrote autobiographically about his relationship with Janis Joplin. 11. Little Mix continue their US invasion today with the premiere of their new single, 'How Ya Doin!' The track originally appeared on the British girl group's album DNA earlier this year before being remixed for single treatment with Missy Elliott. A music video has already been filmed for the song, which is set to be officially released on the 14th of April. Speaking about the collaboration, the girl's said: We honestly can’t believe Missy is on our song! She’s been one of our biggest idols forever – it’s incredible. As soon as we thought there might be a chance she’d appear on the track we did literally everything we could to make sure it happened. Reportedly, Jesy Nelson, a member of the group, was so pleased by the collaboration that she cried when hearing Missy would be on the song. What do you think of the track? Does it inspire tears of happiness in you? Let us know over at the forums! Download: Little Mix - How Ya Doin'? (Remix) (Feat. Missy Elliot) (Radio Rip)
  12. ikr you can actually see her waist getting skinnier by the second!

  17. After a short break from releasing music, Ashanti is back once again with her brand new single 'Never Should Have'!  Following the release of the minor flops 'The Woman You Love' with Busta Rhymes and 'That's What We Do' with R. Kelly, the  32 year-old singer has returned with a new, electr0-pop inspired sound that could just be the thing to renew her career. After several pushbacks, Ashanti's new album Braveheart is set to be released on June 4th. Will you be picking it up? What do you think of the new single? Let us know at the forums! 18. Two new Skylar Grey songs have been released onto the internet! The first, 'Slowly Freaking Out', was officially released today as part of the soundtrack for the upcoming thriller The Host. Produced by frequent Grey collaborator Alex da Kid, the song is typical Skylar and we can see it fitting perfectly into her new album. The second song, 'Glow In Da Dark', was performed live by Grey at the SXSW festival recently. While we only have a good quality live version of the song, it's easy to tell what the song will sound like judging by Grey's sultry vocals and the percussive instruments in the background. Skylar's album Don't Look Down, is finished and awaiting a release later this year. Will you be picking up the album? Let us know over at the forums! 19. Just minutes ago, Nicky Romero premiered his brand new single featuring Eva Simons - 'Circle of One'! While we only have the version that Romero played live during his set for SXM Radio in Miami, we can tell that this will be a total club banger. This is the second time the duo have worked together, following Romero's remix of Eva's amazing 'I Don't Like You' last year. What do you think of the song? Is it a surefire hit or will it flop just like some of Eva's past collaborations? Let us know over at the forums! Download: Nicky Romero - 'Circle of One (Feat. Eva Simons)'
  20. It was Beatle's Night a few days ago on American Idol, and for us there was no competition - the stand-out acts were definitely Angie, Candice and Amber (with an honourable mention going to the rather sweet Janelle). Angie brought soul and passion to the rock standard 'Yesterday', Candice rocked it out to 'Come Together', and Amber suprised us with a pretty beautiful rendition of 'She's Leaving Home' - the fact that she was in the bottom three was ridiculous! Check out the studio version's of the girl's songs below and head over to the forums to discuss your favourite performance of the night! 21. The Saturdays have been teasing us recently with plenty of snippets, demo's and singles from the upcoming album The Chase! We decided to compile all the songs into one big megapost for you guys to enjoy. Have fun! 7. 'Not Giving Up On Love (LQ) (Snippet)' 'Not Giving Up On Love', sometimes referred to as 'Eyes Wide Open', is a song whose recording was documented during the girl's reality TV show, Chasing The Saturdays. Produced by Carl Ryden (David Guetta, Lolene), the song is a typical Sats affair, with euphoric production, a danceable beat and somewhat melancholy lyrics. We're not sure about this one yet, but judging from the snippet it could just turn out to be a huge hit! 6. 'Gentleman (LQ) (Snippet)' Another song we only have a snippet of, 'Gentleman' was again recorded for the camera's. We caught a glimpse of the girl's in the studio with Priscilla Renea (Madonna, Rihanna), on a recent episode prior to the song supposedly being announced as the second single. According to DigitalSpy, the song has been announced as the sophomore single from the group's upcoming American debut - however, with no official announcement from the girl's management yet, we can hold out hope that this is just a rumour. While we've only heard a demo version, we definitely think The Sats have a lot more to offer with this one! 5. 'You Don't Have The Right (Shontelle Demo)' 'You Don't Have The Right' was originally confirmed in a Tweet by the rather charming Diane Warren, whose penned hits for the likes of Beyoncé ('I Was Here') and Nicole Scherzinger ('Trust Me I Lie'). While we have yet to hear the girl's final version, a very rought demo of the song featuring Barbadian singer Shontelle leaked recently. We like what we hear with this one! 4. 'Turn Myself In' This might not technically be a brand new song. Hell, it might not even be technically confirmed for the album. First appearing as a b-side on the '30 Days' single, 'Turn Myself In', co-written by the girl's themselves, has since become something of a fan favourite. We can definitely see this as album material, although we don't think it would do all that well on the dance-infused radio right now. 3. 'Somebody Else's Life (Acoustic)' 'Somebody Else's Life' was first heard as the opening theme to Chasing the Saturdays, and since then it's become pretty highly anticipated. Always the group to stir the pot, the Sats then decided to release an acoustic version of the song as the b-side to 'What About Us'. All signs point to this being the second single from the album, and we're pretty happy with that! 2. '30 Days' '30 Days' was originally released last year as the first single off the group's then untitled upcoming album. Written by Autumn Rowe, the song sounds kind of like a leftover for the On Your Radar album, with dark, blaring synths and unified vocals by the girls. While the song's inclusion on the album is undetermined, we can definitely see this as an album track - even if we don't necessarily want it released as a worldwide single! 1. 'What About Us' And here we are! 'What About Us', aka the official song of the summer, is the second official single from the album and by far the best song we've heard so far. With some pretty killer vocals, the catchiest hook we've heard all year and a pointless rent-a-rapper who adds simply nothing to the track (Sean Paul), we simply don't see how this couldn't become a hit. It's fate! What do you think of The Saturdays new album? Do you like what you hear so far? Let us know over at our forums!
  22. American Idol alumni Jessica Sanchez and hitmaker Ne-Yo are prepared to take over 'Tonight' with their brand new single! Following a rather epic performance of the song on Idol recently, the two have since released the song to iTunes and premiered a music video for the track. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54nSydD9JqM The song is pretty much your typical Ne-Yo track, with decent vocals, a party-time message and a big anthemic chorus made for the clubs. Despite that, we kind of love it. The energy the two had during their Idol performance was pretty infectious, and the sight of Keith Urban bopping his head to a dance-pop song was pretty hilarious too. What do you guys think of the song? Will you be picking up Jessica's album? Let us know on our forums! Download: Jessica Sanchez - 'Tonight (Feat. Ne-Yo)'
