  1. She also said, “If you want to make it about race, there’s a way you could do that. But don’t make it just about yourself. Say: ‘This is the reason why I think it’s important to be nominated. There’s girls everywhere with this body type.’” She added that what she heard “sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite.” Miley went on to say: Is it weird that I actually agree with every single person who's commented on this issue? Nicki is right to call out racism in the music industry, although I don't honestly believe that this was an example of it. Taylor was right to point out that she deserved to be nominated and Nicki was probably shunned by one of the males. Katy was right to point out Taylor's hipocrisy. And now Miley is right to critique Nicki's tone and ask for a more civilised, open discussion on the situation.
  2. Someone buy me a new strap on.

  3. TFW Two of your favourite people on the forum are having a fight:
  4. One Direction confirmed in an official press release today that they are to "split up in March". The group, which sans Zayn Malik now consists of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, are taking a break to focus on solo endeavours and have decided not to tour their upcoming fifth album. But worry not! The split may well be temporary, with management saying that the plan is to go on hiatus only for "at least a year". Following a reunion in London last weekend, the group made the joint decision to split up following their "incredible" five year run since their creation on the 2010 English version of The X Factor. It was further confirmed that the departure of Zayn from the band earlier this year had no bearing on the band's decision to split, with management saying: The group premiered their latest music video for new single 'Drag Me Down' this past week, with an album confirmed for the coming year. After that, their future remains uncertain. What do you think? Do the boys deserve a well-earned break, or would you like to see them carry on performing together? Or should they never get back together at all? Let us know down in the comments below!
  5. Benedict Cumberbatch realness tbqfh... You're adorable, and I swear to god we have exactly the same hair colour. Do you use Directions?
  6. First of all, it doesn't matter whether or not an individual is being directly or indirectly attacked or criticised because of their race or gender. Racism and sexism is often subtle and toxic and nine times out of ten it won't be explicitly mentioned but will nevertheless direct our opinions and actions on a sub-conscious level. Why is it that you think rappers like Eminem and Macklemore are given free reign to do whatever they want while Iggy is the brunt of every joke in 2015? I personally agree with you that she's not particularly talented (although some of her mixtape tracks go hard and 'Fancy' is still a bop), but why is that a reason to spew hatred regarding her and her music? If you don't like her, ignore her and move on. If enough people did that she would have faded into irrelevancy a long time ago. Sorry but no, you can hate or not like someone because a million things before their race or their gender so I don't get why is that an issue here tbh. I'm not going to bother responding to you if you completely ignore everything I've just argued for the purpose of a one sentence response. Honestly, I don't agree with everything you've said in your recent posts, but this last paragraph is ON POINT. Why is it that when Diplo makes fun of Taylor Swift's skinny ass he's immediately painted as some incredibly anti-feminist douche bag, whereas when Snoop Dogg bullies Iggy like a high school mean girl it's hilarious? Read ha tbh.

  8. Major Lazer – aka Diplo’s group – has revealed that his smash hit “Lean On” was at one time turned down by both superstar Rihanna and hip-hop princess Nicki Minaj. Sitting down with Time Magazine recently, Diplo revealed that the song was originally written by MØ as a slow reggae jam – a demo of which leaked online recently – before it was pitched to both Rih and Nicki. As it turns out, however, Diplo views the rejection as a blessing in disguise. In his words: I can’t lie – I’m kind of happy about this news. As much as I love both Rihanna and Nicki, and they definitely do well with any island-vibed song, I really can’t see either of them singing this tribal smash as well as MØ can – somewhat ironic given that out of the three, she’s the only white girl in the group. What do you think about the idea of Nicki or RiRi jumping on “Lean On”? Do you think they could have rocked it, or did MØ make the track what it is today? Let us know in the comments below!
  9. Okay, but I think she has bigger fish to fry than this random fucking nerdgasm who's just gained thousands of RT's and followers and a heap of publicity because of her. She should save her criticism for the artists and rappers who are criticising her, not this random fan account.
  10. I just don't know how she even found this tweet, because even if she'd been searching for her name in the tags, he didn't even spell that right so there was no way she could have found it. Does she just happen to follow superhero fan accounts? Maybe a fan tagged her? You know she loves lurking her notifications I guess she has a lot of free time now that her tour's been cancelled...:stretcher:
  11. He looks so cute in his album covers and then he just comes out with the darkest shit!

  13. It's an Australian store called Orporto's. I love it bc everything is grilled & much healthier. Omg, are you from Australia as well? Dat Bondi Burger tho...;) What is your biggest fear? yeesss remember I was that Lana fan from Sydney and we were talking about having sleepovers and talking about and listening to Lana in my welcome post lol. Biggest fear: Pain oops How old are you? Omg, duh! You changed your name tho, right? Or do I just have the worst memory ever? 20, but turning 21 in seventeen days! #OfficiallyAncient What's your favourite book series and why?
  14. I haven't listened to all of these tracks yet but I'm loving what I've heard so far! I'm surprised it's taken so long to be released!
  15. You want to..... I can't believe how we let this thread flop... lol Confession... Er, there's not much to confess. I hate 80s music. Most of it. Like go ahead and delete it fat if you try to send it to me. Ew so do I omg. My mum loves it & sometimes she plays it in the car & I really can't stand it omg. Okaayy so there was this time where I was literally ADDICTED to Lana. Listening to Lana was all I ever wanted to do, and it was awful bc I'm not allowed to listen to music in class & I couldn't concentrate at school. I was also very antisocial then. Also, this storm of melancholy & anxiety would come over me if I was not listening to her or doing something that had something to do with Lana (I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO LISTEN TO KATY AT ALL). And tbh I think it's coming back...but I feel like it's slightly different. GOD OKAY I KNOW I'M FUCKING WEIRD Being addicted to Lana is totally normal, but disliking 80s music is fucking weird. You should be ashamed of yourself tbh. Because it's all overrated, overplayed shit tbh And yet it's continued to inspire your faves (including Avril in that messy 'Hello Kitty' shit) for over three decades. Japanese and dubstep was what inspired HK...??? Wyd What do you think inspired dubstep? Rockabilly?
  16. Quentin Tarantino's upcoming sure-to-be-masterpiece The Hateful Eight is only a few months away from it's release on December 25th, when it's being released as the newest family-friendly holiday classic, perfect for kids of all ages. With a recently released trailer making buzz online, Tarantino has decided to tease us again with a series of new posters inspired by the film, and featuring seven cast members from the main "octet" of characters. The posters boast of the films all star cast which features Kurt Russell as John Ruth, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue, Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix, Demián Bichir as Bob, Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray, Michael Madsen as Joe Gage, and Bruce Dern as General Sanford Smithers. Notably absent is Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, who judging by his brief appearance in the trailer is already being set up as a fan favourite. When it comes to design, the poster are classic Tarantino, with a smattering of heavy, atmospheric snow offsetting the vivid red Asian-inspired strikes behind each character dictating which of the core eight characters they are. Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh's characters are the only two to share a single poster, hinting towards a possible intimacy between the two. What are your thoughts on the films posters? Do they inspire you to go and see the movie, or are they just more of the same from Tarantino? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
  17. The European film industry has issued a collective statement today, declaring that they will aim to increase gender equality and female representation in all aspects of the industry over the coming years. The news was first announced at the annual Sarajevo Film Festival today, where headliners such as Son of Saul, The Lobster, and Green Man are currently screening. The declaration had the full support of European ministries of culture as well as public filmmaking funds used to produce upcoming movies. It acknowledged that “women are considerably underrepresented in key job roles in the film industry” and that true equality involved making “full use of the skills, talents and creativity of women and men alike”. The pledge proposes to improve women’s access to public film funds, appoint females to higher-ranking positions such as director or producer within the industry and promote female-driven films as equal to male-centred projects. It also suggested that European states should study the causes of inequality and produce research on gender equality in the industry. What do you think of Europe’s promise to enhance gender equality? Will it make a significant difference, or will it simply lead to enhanced equality but a lower quality of film?
  18. Is it bad that I only just figured out how to tag people on my own forum? :stretcher:

  20. She looks the best she has in ages here! Looking forward to the new songs and the ballads especially, even if she's not writing them personally. I really hope she decides to let the Vegas show end, or at least tour it around the world a bit now the initial profits would be dwindling.
  21. "He used to call me DF, That stood for Dream Fucker."
  22. Omg, I loved this tbh. They're actually all super charismatic and have the cutest chemistry together which I never realised! What happened to the big announcement that was meant to be made though? Still waiting for Raven in College.
