  1. Honestly, even though I just want guns to be banned completely in the US and I'm not sure how much good these changes will do, I think they're a step in the right direction and I definitely see the potential for them to be built upon!
  2. Your right, she really has no excuse for I Am's failure.
  3. At least someone on this forum has good taste, minus the Melanie comment.
  4. Fans of British indie-pop star Marina & The Diamonds are in for a real New Years treat today. After months of teasing, Marina's cover of Cyndi Lauper's classic gay rights anthem 'True Colors' has finally leaked online! 'True Colors' is a relatively recent song that was written during the FROOT sessions back in 2014. Originally, the song was first intended to be used in conjunction with a piece Marina wrote for World Aids Day back in December of that year, and plans were made to include it in a video interview she was conducting on the day. Allegedly, however, Marina's team was unable to gain clearance quickly enough for the song to be released and the track was moved to the back burner. Later, it was considered to be placed on a re-release of the FROOT album, alongside tracks like 'Disconnect', which featured Clean Bandit and was performed live at Coachella; and 'I'm Not Hungry Anymore', which leaked in snippet form earlier this year. However, Marina later decided to scrap the FROOT re-release in August of last year, once again leaving the song homeless. For those who have been living under a rock for the past thirty years, 'True Colors' is a track sung and produced by Cyndi Lauper and first released on the 1986 album of the same name. Written by icon Billy Steinberg about his elderly mother, the track was later dedicated to Lauper's best friend who had died from AIDS, and thus became an anthem for the gay community who was struggling with the disease at the time. What do you think of Marina's cover of 'True Colors'? Is the original always the best or has she done Cyndi justice? Let us know in the comments down below! 5. Hi, welcome to #PopHatesFlops! What's your name?
  6. Yeah, but there's a full solo Rihanna version going around which we'll never be able to hear.
  7. In another entry into "news that won't shock anyone", controversial R&B singer Chris Brown has been listed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as a suspect in an assault and theft case that occured Saturday morning at the Palms Casino. The incident allegedly began at 10:20 on Saturday morning, when police were called to respond to a report of battery that occured inside a Palms Casino hotel room. When police arrived to investigate, they found a female victim with minor injuries. Police confirmed that the victim was attending a party inside a hotel room at the Palms when an altercation took place over a cell phone. According to the victim, she was attempting to use her phone to take a photograph of Brown when he took it from her and assaulted her. The victim was then escorted from the room by private security, before being ejected from the property by hotel security. When she returned to the hotel, she reported the incident to security, who later attempted to contact Brown but were unable to enter the room and later found that Brown had already left the hotel. Through a representative, Brown said that the "[victim's] statements are unequivocally untrue" and that the victim was removed from the party due to her "disruptive and out of control" behaviour. "Her claim that she had her phone in her possession inside the after party and was able to take a photo causing an altercation with Chris Brown is a complete fabrication," said the representative, seemingly implying that mobile phones were not allowed in the afterparty at all. "This seems like a clear case of retaliation for her bruised ego." Brown is in Las Vegas for the New Year's weekend and performed Jan. 1 at Drai's Beach and Nightclub. If proven to be true, this assault will be the latest in a long line of crimes, some of which include throwing a chair through a window, starting a bottle throwing competition with Drake, and, you know, beating up Rihanna. What do you think of the latest allegations against Breezy? Should we trust what he has to say on the matter, or does his history dictate how you feel about the situation? 8. Ever since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth met on the set of dramatic romance film The Last Song in 2009, back when she still had long brown hair and he had enough money to buy a razor, their love at first sight relationship set teenage hearts ablaze all across the world as they followed in Brangelina's footsteps to become Hollywood's new young power couple. But their relationshp was cut short when, despite a proposal in 2012, the pair decided to go their seperate ways in late 2013. But if new reports are to be believed, the two may be making a comeback after they were spotted together on one of the biggest nights of the year, New Years Eve. Photographs were taken of the two at the Australian Falls Music Festival in Hemsworth's hometown of Sydney, along with Chris and Luke Hemsworth and their respective wives. According to sources, the two were seen "cuddling and kissing" and Liam was spotted rubbing his beau's back in a VIP area as they watched the show. Security surrounded the couple to ensure people did not photograph them, but a few sneaky Instagram snaps did manage to be taken. Cyrus and Hemsworth made their last public appearance in August, 2013, when she turned up to support him on the Paranoia red carpet, just weeks after taking her ring off to be "cleaned". Since then, neither have been saving themselves for marriage, with Hemsworth rebounding with Spanish singer and actress Eiza González and Cyrus (who last year came out as pansexual) seen with the likes of Patrick Schwarznegger and Victoria's Secret model Stella Maxwell. This isn't the first time the two have been seen continuing their relationship. Last year, Hemsworth stated that he would always be "best friends" with his ex, and Cyrus later got an Instagram shoutout for helping him adopt a dog. If the two really are back together, it could mark a return to innocence for Cyrus, who recently debuted a more mature, classic hairstyle. What do you think of the couple? Do you stan Liley or should the two break it off for good? Let us know in the comments below!
  9. I blame Simon Cowell. He always has his black vocalists who he builds up majorly and then just gives up on promoing...first Leona, then Alexandra, I bet next it will be Fleur.
  10. Seriously? I feel like ballads come so easily to her and that because of that 'Cheap Thrills' is the only song so far she actually put work into!
  11. If you're looking for the perfect anthem to blast out of that convertible you borrowed from your grandprarents, or to include on the suggestive mixtape you made for your girlfriend, we might just have the perfect artist for you. Sizzy Rocket, the Las Vegas native with a penchant for catchy hooks and a story to tell, has already proven her chops when it comes to provocatively bi-curious bangers; but with latest single 'Bad Kids', she takes her music out of the clubs and into the streets with her inspirational ode to the rebels of the night. While her early performance experience involved dancing to Britney Spears with her dance group at age seven, Rocket seems to have traded the strip malls for strip clubs lately as she's released string after string of dancefloor banger. 'Girls' doubles as both a role-reversed satirical Beastie Boys cover which explores the pressures placed on females in the media and a melodic synth-pop jam perfect for your next beach turn up; while 'Bestie', our personal favourite, explores that awkward space in between best friend and lesbian lover and manages to turn the phrase "I wanna fuck my best friend" into the catchiest hook we've heard in months. But with 'Bad Kids', the musical manifestation of a cloud of glitter floating over a pool of lava, Rocket slows it down to approach power ballad territory with her nostalgia for teenage angst parties. The name may be Gaga related, but the similiarities end with the song's concept: "We've got no future/Nothing but the high that we get from the time that we're wasting just from the thrill of it all," Rocket laments over some melodic synths straight out of Super Mario, while inspiring a new 'Gangnam Style' dance trend with her choreography in the video. The 80s may be long gone, but the spirit of rebelliousness and the scent of leather they inspired still live on in this girl. No word yet on a full-length album rollout, but with collaborations from Diplo, The Scissor Sisters' Babydaddy and DJ Khalil, we wouldn't be surprised if we the future brought much more from this diva in training. Check out 'Bad Kids' below and let us know what you think!
  12. Given that Melanie was inspired to write her one-dimensional songs based on a question on Family Feud asking what can be found in a child's nursery, she's lucky she made the list at all. Cry Baby is a good album but it's far from a great one, and it would have been replaced with Breathe In. Breathe Out. if I hadn't hated Kendall Heart so much. But stan for Queen Levan tho!
  13. You look cute tho so I can't even be mad.
  14. I'm actually shocked anyone likes any of the new tracks other than 'Cheap Thrills'.
  15. What the fuck did I just watch? They're like everything Die Antwoord has always wanted to be but failed...
  16. He still has a career in pop music? After that awkward mental breakdown he staged and the Gaga accusation I thought he'd disappeared for good...
  17. This post was the most promo Leona has gotten since Spirit!
  18. I swear to god you make the exact same face in every photograph. When I click through your photos on Snapchat it's just like you've used the same photo of yourself and Photoshopped random backgrounds behind you. Your hair looks so on point lately. I thought that was a massive bong at first and I was super impressed for like two seconds.
  19. Yet another flawless article from the good sis @High Princess! When will your fave slay using only their keyboard? But on another note, the shade of you not even including ANTI... I kind of feel the same way about that though, the hype train has already come and gone for me.
  20. I honestly wasn't sure how to order this list, but even though I've listened to other tracks more this year I think 'Run Away With Me' was the closest to perfect I've heard in ages!
  21. I'm just being honest. I don't support child abuse of any form whether it be sexual, physical or verbal. But I find it hot that he finds it hot, and I can't change what I think is hot.
  22. Now that 2016 has finally arrived - and any hopes of a surprise release ala Beyoncé have been completely dashed - we thought it was the perfect time to look back at what made last year in music great. Although the bigger names in pop such as Gaga, RiRi and Katy all took unexpected hiatuses for the majority of 2015, these breaks only made room for newcomer artists and previously unpolished gems to dominate the charts. Read on below to find out how! In fifth place... In fourth place... In third place... In second place... And in first place... What do you think of PHF's official list of the five best albums of 2015? Have we covered all the bases, or are you ready to hunt us down for not including your favourite project? Let us know in the comments section down below!
  23. Is it bad that this just makes me find him even hotter?
