Yeah, I definitely can't see Siobhan promoing an AWDF re-release on her Instagram stories But I guess @Dax Diameter is right that their old label is the one with the rights to that music, so if they still have a decent working relationship with the girls we could possibly get something. I feel like some of the decision to release something may come down to Siobhan in that case...Would she even make money from an AWDF re-release? Maybe just for the use of the Sugababes name? I haven't heard this one before! I love the guitar part...It definitely should have been on one of the Heidi albums. I can imagine her vocals on the top harmony for sure.

Very true! I think it there's a market for a remastered version of One Touch, there's definitely a market for a proper release of the MKS sessions. Obviously it's never going to be a #1 hit album but I still think their fans would buy it up. Do you think they'll keep doing anniversary re-releases for their albums? If so, wouldn't we be getting something for their second album this year? 👀 I wonder if there are even tracks they recorded with Siobhan for a second album before she left the group...

An EP would be great! But I feel like there were so much strong material they could easily make a 10 track mixtape kind of thing to upload to streaming. I would rather have new stuff from them, but this would be a nice way to acknowledge that era and give us something to tide us over until another album.

Cathy Dennis! Biffco! Jake Shears! All icons

Let's be real, Ariana and Dua could never have the range Pop is way too safe now and no one is making the kind of interesting pop Xenomania used to
-
Interesting! I’m sure in an alternate universe Siobhan never left the girls and Heidi made it big as a solo artist. I wonder what kind of sound she would have settled on for her own material
-
Definitely the most unique girl group I know of. The songs are so well produced that they sound current even now 20 years later
-
Do you hear her voice in there at all? I gave it a listen but I couldn't spotlight Heidi's vocals

Idk why Close to Love has never clicked with me. I love Sexy No No No and it's a similar style to that, but the chorus is just kinda weak and the whole song is too repetitive for me. I like Girl Overboard more but even then I don't think it's really single material. I'm glad Can't Speak French was released personally

I'm the same way! I got to experience the Something New launch but that whole era seemed a little strained, and BCYLM wasn't the greatest second single imo. I wish they'd been more of an international act so I could have enjoyed them in Australia What would you have released as the fourth single? I like Control of the Knife and Black Jacks a lot but I can't necessarily see them being hits Sound of the Underground is really that girl!

Been bopping to these

Honestly, you're very brave for even writing this and it's so interesting to hear what you have to say. I'm sure even though we can all agree the war is horrible there's a lot of nuance as to why it's happened that we probably don't even get told in the west, so it's interesting to hear it from a Russian perspective. I'm glad your safe and don't seem to have been conscripted. Have the western sanctions on Russia done anything at all to people on a day to day basis? Or is it pretty much just business as usual outside of not eating McDonalds?

I think doing the MNEK remix would be a good shoutout to their current release and a nice indication of what their next album could sound like, and you're right it would go nicely with Flowers. I say go for it! Siobhan sounds great there. I still can't help but wonder what her, Mutya, Keisha and Heidi would sound like harmonizing together 🤔

I saw this too. If that thing about her mum slapping her is true (and I can't imagine her lying about it) it's really messed up. I always thought Lynne was the better parent but I guess Wendy was write when she said death to ALL of them. P.S. In response to our last posts on here, your English is perfect

Personally I could listen to Mutya singing the phone book, so I'm happy with hearing her back on Red Dress But I just don't think Siobhan can pull off those sexy sassy songs so well, in the same way as Heidi probably couldn't pull off Flatline

BTS On Hiatus Until 2025 For Military Duty
Main Pop Girl replied to Main Pop Girl's topic in Entertainment News
You're totally right. Mandatory conscription is horrible and sexist If it was anyone else who had to do it I would feel bad but at this point I'm just happy to get a break from them Stay tuned for the military reality show we'll get from them in 12 months time as well I'll be curious to see what stories we get of how they're being treated by the other soldiers. -

Yes, I was definitely thinking of Red Dress! Idk why I get so confused with all their song titles but this is like the fifth mistake I've made in this thread so sorry for always confusing you all I found a few videos up on YouTube now. Keisha and Mutya sound amazing although I don't think this version of the chorus is as good as the studio Mutya definitely sounds better in those videos than she did at the festival shows. I loooove her raspy tone too but it sounded like she was maybe dehydrated or smoking or something for those festivals because her voice was barely there in some of those songs. As long as she's taking good care of that beautiful voice I'm happy I hope they're able to bring back that extra ad-lib ("there oughta beee a waaaayeaayeaaaveee) she used to do in Flatline too! Do people not like that song? I think the MNEK remix is even high up on their Spotify playlist so I kind of assumed they would be performing it on this tour 🤔

Idk why I always paid this song dust until recently A Cheryl co-write and a platform for her, Nicola and Kim to shine, plus the production is super fun
-
I love me some Sugababes buuuut I have to say the SFA version of Flowers is god-tier That groovy 90s euphoria is so fun to listen to and just can't be beat by any of the covers imo. Idk how I missed this old performance of Freak Like Me! I have to say I prefer Heidi's voice on this one though...Imo Siobhan does great on the more serious songs but she can't sell sex appeal in the way Heidi can. On a side note, Mutya's voice still sounded amazing back then, but it's sounding a little worn down in their recent performances I hope she can bring it back because she had probably my favourite voice in pop
-
That intro act is iconic Hit after hit! I can live without some of the other songs (I'm so sick of hearing Flowers) and I still don't get why they're not including at least Run for Cover and Soul Sound, both of which I think charted higher than Flatline Still, I'm glad Siobhan's comfortable now singing all the hits. I'm intrigued to hear her version of Freak Like Me!
-
Well, they only ever sang Keisha's solo and the chorus of About You Now together. Maybe Siobhan is referring to singing Heidi's part in the bridge. Still, I would be very happy with Hole in the Head, but I feel like Keisha doesn't like that song too much

Iconic Miley needs to release a Hannah Montana collab with Dollskill or something because I would totally wear her merch

Nicola always looks great! It's just the pose that's awkward. They caught her at an unflattering moment
