  1. Don't hold your breath. I'm all for hating on Timbersnake, but I'm not sure why people think it's his fault that Janet got slammed in the press over a decade ago... It's not his fault she asked him to touch her boob and then got sued millions for it. I would have done the same thing in his position!
  2. @choke, you're wrong for comparing female artists... But @Capsule, you're a SATANIC WHORE for abusing KPP like that! How dare you insult the Queen of J-Pop and the Mayor of Harajuku like that? She's the most creative J-Pop artist ever and a true icon!
  3. YASSS QUEEN, I'm so excited for you! I know how much you love Keshus and how much this would mean to you! Plus I'm living for the fact that this whole thread is on some Tana Mongeau level of clickbait storytime. You need to start a YouTube channel ASAP!
  4. SOMEONE MAKE A GIF OF THIS ASAP!

  5. Do people over 12 actually do things for Halloween? :cackle: I spent the entire night watching Stranger Things and eating chocolate in bed by myself...Wbu? :orly:

@Moonchild Nooo, that's so mean they'd make Halloween the due date for your assignment! :tanya: I don't believe it though, I bet you'd look great in your birthday suit. ;)

@Speedy You don't believe in ghosts? Then how do you explain Halsey still walking around after she's been massacred a dozen times? :cackle:

  6. The shade of it all! You would have to be that lead bitch from The Craft because you're sassy and cynical and think you're a lot edgier than you actually are...
  7. I completely agree! There's tracks I skip like 'Toy Soldier' and 'Everybody' but that's just so I have more time to listen to 'Gimme More' on repeat. It's amazing how well this album has lasted even a decade later! Agreed! I think I was spoiled during my teenage years because I really didn't realise how many great albums were being released until much later on.
  8. Not 'Brooklyn Nights' being your #1 choice when it's in my bottom ten...
  9. Sexual assault is a hot topic in Hollywood at the moment, and it seems like barely a day goes by without another actor coming forward to share their story of abuse in the industry. Since Harvey Weinstein was exposed several weeks ago, dozens of female actresses have shared their version of events; but up until now, no high profile males have come forward to talk about their experiences with sexual abuse. That was until yesterday, when Anthony Rapp, famous for his starring role in the original cast of Broadway show Rent and for his lead role on the new Star Trek: Discovery TV show, alleged to Buzzfeed News that he had been victim of an unwanted sexual advance from actor Kevin Spacey when he was only 14. Rapp's full story can be read over at Buzzfeed, but according to him he met Spacey while he starred in Broadway show Precious Sons, with Spacey adjacent to him starring in Long Day's Journey Into Night. The two struck up a friendship despite the fact that Spacey was twelve years older than Rapp at age 26, and Rapp not only attended an adults only club with Spacey but went to a house party he was hosting as well. Rapp became bored at the party with no one of his own age to talk to, and ended up entering Spacey's bedroom to watch TV. Without realising that all of the other guests had left, Rapp found himself facing a drunk Spacey who stood in the doorway to his room swaying. Spacey then picked up Rapp and threw him on the bed, lying on top of him and pressing their bodies together in an obvious sexual advance. Rapp ended up extricating himself from the situation and went home, but not before Spacey had questioned whether he wanted to stay the night. Spacey refused to make a statement to Buzzfeed, but he would later take to Twitter to not only apologise to Rapp, but also to deny memory of the situation and to come out as gay for the first time publicly. While it's admirable for Spacey to finally come out as gay - although according to Andy Cohen's memoir it was already common knowledge in the industry - we can't help but feel it's a diversion tactic to avoid talking about the incident with Rapp. And it seems to have worked, for Spacey has received much more support publicly than Weinstein did. Admittedly, Weinstein was faced with many more accusations, some of which were much more physical, and people don't share the same bond with him as they do with Spacey, a well known face on the big screen. But we can't help but feel there's a double standard here which doesn't seem quite fair to Weinstein. Your thoughts?
  10. Me too, sis. But let's not get too excited, she's disappointed us a million times before and I'm sure she's going to do it again soon...
  11. @Ruthless Love and @hounderawr, you better STAN The Nanny! That's a show we need a reboot of, I wanna see what Fran and Mr. Sheffield are up to!
  12. I'm shook that it's already been ten years since the best pop album of all time was released! It's crazy how current and edgy this album still sounds even a decade later. I wonder if they intentionally released it this close to Halloween given how dark the whole vibe is and the gothic photoshoot they did for it?
  13. I'm 99% sure he's gonna just recreate the medley he did at the VMA's a few years ago, maybe with 'Despacito' or some mess thrown in for good measure... I also just realised I said he was from The Backstreet Boys instead of N*Sync, clearly I was tired while writing this article. Thanks for letting me know!
  14. This week marks ten years since the release of Britney Spear's indisputable magnum opus Blackout - and while a lot has changed in Britney's life and in pop culture since 2007, one thing that remains is the album's incredible influence and staying power. Ten years on, Blackout remains one of the most pivotal releases in pop music history, ushering in the era of dance-pop that has permeated the airwaves ever since and sounding just as current today as it ever has. Surely some of the credit for this has to go to the album's masterful production, handled mostly by R&B producer Danja and Euro-dance connosieurs Bloodshy & Avant. Blackout struck back in the midst of the R&B revival which furrowed in Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, and somehow it seems that most of the songs crafted during that time have remained completely ahead of the times and edgy; even if 'Break The Ice' were released today, it would still be completely different from anything else on the radio. It says a lot that quite literally all of the songs on the album can still be bopped to in 2017. But part of Blackout's success of course has to go to Britney's public image at the time of release. Back when Britney Jean was in its formative years, Britney's team referred to it as an intended Blackout 2.0; but they missed the fact that recreating Blackout was completely impossible without forcing Britney's personal life into full on meltdown mode. Blackout was believable and impressive as an album because of its stars personal troubles, most of which stemmed from her divorce with Kevin Federline - and while we won't get too far into them here, it's fair to say that everyone remembers the image of Britney with a shaved head splashed onto the front cover of every magazine. The album was a safe haven for Britney to direct her energy into, and a window through which the public could try to understand her by even while her public image jumped from Disney star to mother to drug taker to complete disaster artist. The versions of Britney found on Blackout were similarly variable, but the album maintained consistency thanks to its forward thinking production. Naturally, there's sex kitten Britney, who had previously appeared on songs like 'I'm A Slave 4 U'; although this time she was elevated to a new level of raunch. 'Gimme More' is the most notable example of this, but its also apparent in album tracks such as 'Freakshow', which predicted dubstep years before it hit the mainstream, and 'Get Naked (I Got A Plan)', which has to be Britney's straight up sluttiest song in existence. While Brit had always exhibited a sexy persona, it was always juxtaposed with the girl next door image that she'd cultivated in her Mickey Mouse Club days, which toned it down and put any hints of sexiness under a wedding dress strapped into a chastity belt. But with Blackout, all pretention of the good girl was gone, and naughty Britney was officially here to stay. That's not to say that songs about love were off the table though, and in fact the slower songs on Blackout were among Britney's most vulnerable, lacking the cheesiness of 'Lucky' or 'Sometimes'. 'Heaven on Earth' is a sweetly simplistic love song made interesting thanks to it's synth-laden production; 'Outta This World', a bonus track, is a tender and soft harmonisation with co-writer Keri Hilson; and 'Why Should I Be Sad?' is a candid, and yet defiant ending to the album which holds the promise of change to come. By far the most unique version of Britney on the album, however, has to be the one found in 'Piece of Me', the album's only real hit and the song that would go on to name Britney's ongoing residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Produced by Bloodshy & Avant, the same team who worked on 'Toxic' and 'My Prerogative', and with background vocals courtesy of the incomparable Robyn, the song is Britney's version of MJ's 'Leave Me Alone' - a kiss off to the media forces which try to bring her down and an assertion of the fact that she is in control of her image. It's a side of Brit that had never been expressed artistically before, but had been seen in her numerous run-ins with the paparazzi during which she screamed at them, pushed them or attacked them with umbrellas, and it's timing couldn't have been better. With that one smirk during the final scene of the 'Piece of Me' video, Britney had us convinced that she was not only in on the joke but was also pulling the strings herself in order to come out on top. Of course, the Blackout reign couldn't last forever, and it only took a year for Britney to make her triumphant return with Circus, which was a pretty mixed bag of an album overall. On the one hand, the version of Britney we saw during the Circus era seemed more stable and her performances were much more predictable; but on the other hand, without the pain of her breakup and with the pressures of her conservatorship Britney's work lacked genuinity and edginess. It was only with the release of last year's Glory that that seemed to change, and Britney's personality seemed to be her own to control once again. Even with a true successor to Blackout unobtainable, it's a blessing that the album can still be listened to its entirety without skipping a single track. Listen below, and together we'll celebrate a time in which Britney had so little to live for, and yet during which she turned out one of pop's all-time masterpieces. We love you, Britney!
  15. Welcome to all all the new members on PHF! <3 Idk where any of y'all are coming from or why we have so many of you suddenly, but I'm happy to have you here and I hope you enjoy yourselves. <3

Been wondering the same thing, might be because some people have a link to their PHF profile on the bottom of the tradelists (I mean I do anyway)

      I don't know, it's not a bad thing though that's for sure (:

@Ari Definitely not! I just hope we don't become a haven for only traders, there's so much more that the people on the site have to offer! ;)

      Most definitely!

I think that's one of the good things with these threads being hidden until 50 posts, it makes people actually contribute to the forum (especially with most being unaware that these threads) and show them there's actually more to this forum than trading.

  16. I'm so glad you got 'The Cure' (by Lady Gaga on iTunes now)! I've definitely been there before sis... This one time I gave this guy head in his car and he was so rough the blood vessels around my eyes popped. I was CONVINCED I'd somehow developed the symptoms for HIV in like five minutes and totally began planning how to tell my parents I was dying... Our minds can have us believing in some crazy things!
  17. This was so much harder than I thought it would be... I'm shook they have all of Gaga's unreleased like 'Brooklyn Nights' and even 'Fountain of Truth'. So much for only officially released songs!
  18. Not you making me listen to this dreadful album again just so I can participate in the megarate... I've sent my votes in but I'm not happy about it.
  19. I honestly don't really get the hype around Shangela, the only reason I think she's back on the show for a fourth season is because she's basically a meme at this point... But imo she's just kind of a second rate Alyssa Edwards with less personality, I don't really see her bringing anything new to the game.
  20. I feel like most people didn't watch the Vaseline season so I'm not mad at them bringing BeBe back... Although I definitely would have preferred for them to just set up a winners season of All Stars and include her in that!
  21. After months of speculation, and dozens of names being tossed into the ring (including Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Taylor Swift), Justin Timberlake has been officially announced as the performer at next year's highly anticipated Super Bowl Half Time Show. Super Bowl LII (or 52, for those who are Roman numerals illiterate like I am) will be aired on February 14th, and judging by the announcement it's already set to be an event. The announcement further alludes to the fact that Timberlake will be releasing new music soon, as it's the NFL's desire that any artist to perform at the Super Bowl in coming years will be in the middle of an album cycle. Of course, this isn't Timberlake's first time on the Super Bowl stage. Back in 2004 he caused controversy during a joint headlining performance with Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Nelly and Kid Rock. During the infamous performance, Timberlake dueted with Jackson on a version of his single 'Rock Your Body', during which there were provocative dance moves on display. At the end of the performance, Timberlake ripped off Jackson's shirt to reveal her breast, covered only by a pastie. This kind of a display would probably barely cause a batted eyelid in 2017, but at the time it was huge news and CBS was fined a record $550 000. Fans are already expecting Timberlake to return the favour by inviting Jackson to his half-time show; but whether she appears or doesn't, it's almost certain that Jackson will ask his former N*Sync band members to help him out on a few songs. Justin's performance will follow hot on the heels of Lady Gaga's performance at this year's Super Bowl, which ended up being the most watched halftime show in the history of the game. Compared to Gaga, Justin definitely has more hits to break out, although he has less of an interesting performance style. We're hoping this show won't just be him running around in a suit for ten minutes straight. Your thoughts?
  22. So was I until I met @SpeedofGays...
  23. I can't wait for Trixie to win this season of AS3! Honestly, I don't even know why we're bothering to watch because we all know exactly who's gonna snatch the crown, most likely with Aja and Milk as runners up. I wonder why they're keeping the reveal of the tenth queen a secret? Could it be because it's a queen who's already won before? Or maybe it's someone who's gonna come in midway through the season like Cucu?
  24. This is a hard one because I'm not even sure I know what my top three favourite artists are... But I'll give it a go anyway! Lady Gaga: Lana Del Rey: Britney Spears:
  25. In the past two days I've had one friend cancel on our Halloween celebrations, one friend cancel on a move to another state we were planning to do next year and another friend cancel on dinner we were meant to have next week...Where's the nearest bridge tbh? :fishie:
